Dan's life has been a little crazy.  Work has been demanding overtime, all kinds of new responsibilities, the house needs maintenance, the cars and motorcycle require care and feeding... and then he went and threw a wedding in on top of it.

Yes, I am officially married now!  Erica is a wonderful young woman.  On top of her other innumerable qualities, she told me last year that I did not have to sell the Ducati to buy her an expensive ring ( 1 - she thinks the Duc is sexy, and 2 - she doesn't want to carry something that expensive around on her finger anyway).  So yeah, I wanted to get a ring on this woman's finger ASAP.  Grin  She's an engineer (materials science), and so the two of us are dangerous together when we start speaking geek.  Wink

Our wedding was (supposed to be) a small affair at Skamania Lodge.  We both have huge families tho... so it got a little bigger than we intended.  ~200 people, most of which were related to us in one way or another.

Our honeymoon was in Sedona, Arizona.  We spent most of our time at a vacation house I rented, and made a couple side trips.

Once over Hwy 89A, through Jerome, over to Prescott.  Then she had never seen the Grand Canyon, so we drove up there on another day trip.

Here's a few of the pics from our time there... (pics are clickable to view on Photobucket)

The official touristy pic in Sedona:

I rented a Corvette. Wink  It was supposed to be a coupe (for luggage space), but the guy at Rent-A-Vette made a mistake, and all he had left was the convertible.  Thankfully we were able to squeeze the large case in (though we had to leave the top up for the drives to/from Phoenix with that bag in the trunk).

It took some arm-twisting to get this pose out of her, but I think it was worth it.

Sunrise in Sedona, view from the back door of the vacation house:

A viewpoint I used to stop at in college, on Hwy 89A between Jerome and Prescott.  Used to stop here when I would make midnight runs on that wonderfully twisty highway.  Smiley

Obligatory hot car pic (this was a different time of day, the return drive, hence the different lighting)

On our trip to the Grand Canyon, we drove north on Hwy 89A out of Sedona toward Flagstaff.  This is the viewpoint from the top of Oak Creek Canyon... gawd, what a beautiful drive!

Where the highway winds up the steep canyon walls to the summit:

The Grand Canyon!  Well, part of it, anyway... this is near the main visitor's center in Grand Canyon Nat'l Park:

Other views...

There was still snow up there!  It never got out of the mid-40's while we were there.  The south rim is around 7000 feet in elevation.

Me, standing on a rock promontory... quite the vista from there.

Touristy couple pic... Smiley

My darling...

Note that there is nothing but air under that rock I'm sitting on... Wink

Another location... Grandview Point, during "magic hour" just before sunset.

Thanks all!  Sorry, I haven't been in here in a couple days, work is nutty again.  Major deadline tomorrow... and I have 3 more specs to submit for approval signatures.  I finished one this morning and needed to take a brief break, so here I am.

Yeppers, she's gorgeous.  Smiley  We had a lot of fun in Arizona, even tho both of us were sick during our honeymoon.  I was still recovering from Mono and she had bronchitis.  Tongue  Oh well... we loaded up with pharmaceuticals to deaden the symptoms and chose to enjoy ourselves anyway.  It's easy to ignore said symptoms when you're blasting around in the sunshine in a top-down Corvette.  waytogo
