So... the forecast is once again shat for tomorrow. Rain and more rain. They even said it was a very winter like storm brewing out on the coast. This is gonna make it hard for me to convince people to come out and help me.  Sad

Mo - Rain tires seem like over kill for a track day. Plus they could just cancel the bloody thing on me when I get there. What did they run you? I should probably get myself a second set of wheels with tires to have things ready to swap out when I do change my tires.

It costs too much to do a track day and get rained out. Where the make the beast with two backs has our spring gone? Seems like we jumped back a few months in weather quality. Oh well.

On a side note... congrats on a fun race Mo... it was a party environment all day... very relaxed. Nice job to all those racers who kept it on two wheels. Although, it musta been disappointing for the audience to not see any wrecks.   Grin

Hey thanks for volunteering for OMRRA, thats bad ass Ryan!

Yesterday was crazy fun, mini-endurance race, Brian riding my SV and riding it faster then me! (WTF!), taking 4th in our class, and I think 13th overall was awesome!

Regarding riding in the rain (on the track), I would get a second set of rims and put rain tires on them.  Rains are more expensive then DOTs, but last longer if only used in the wet.  You can use a single set of rains all season as long as you dont ride them on dry pavement.  You should be able to pick up a good set of rims with rotors for about $300.  Ive seen them cheaper and more, but $300 seems reasonable.

Im going to jack your thread for a second and thank Jon Fey, he was my pit guy yesterday and helped me a ton!  Thanks man, I owe ya!

Thanks again Ryan, Jon, and everyone else who was out there helping yesterday!

Seeing how much fun you all had in the rain... I think I may skip it tomorrow. I don't want to break the bike, myself, or the bank in the rain. It isn't worth the money or the time off to do so. Will prep the bike and be ready for July. I can ride in the rain when I pick me up some cool rain tires and a second set of wheels to swap back and forth. As for now... I am content to watch the slip and slide from my television. Holy making the beast with two backs!! FARK! I hate this stinking rain.

I did half the day yesterday. Got out there at about 11:45. By the first session after lunch the track was 90% dry.

I know... I know... I was a sally.

How much of a pain in the ass is riding a race bike, with no pit support. Slick tires and no kickstand make for a pregnant dog of a day when it's wet out. My brother cancelled on helping me out at the last minute. I was thinking of the pain it would be to try and balance the bike and find the rear stand... and if I went down... trying to pack it all up on my own... then it was raining... and I decided to stay home and play XBOX 360 all day. I was such a wuss. I shoulda taken Julie's 250 out there and whooped it up.

Cut out a piece of your lower race plastics for your kick stand. Bolt it on for track days and take it off for race days  waytogo

Mo.... I got a new throttle and kill switch thingy from an sv1000... It looks like it will fit my  SV... any idea how hard this crap is to put on the bike? I am thinking of trying to install in the next few days. I also have an extra 1/4 turn throttle iffin you want one.
