Do you have to replace the entire wiring harness, or does the new controls "plug" into something?
I may take you up on the 1/4 turn throttle, but I believe its not SS legal, so I dont know if I would use it.

Yes I will be there on Tuesday. The kill switch / starter controls look to be plug and play... hope they both have the same connectors....

Yeah... they are plug and play... but you have to take off the radiator... the gas tank... and many other kibbles and bits... I said make the beast with two backs it... and changed the oil and the oil filter... it was 104 degrees in my garage.... and I didn't want to take all that crap off and then not put it back together in time for tomorrow. Guess it will have to wait for another day. Oh well. I am ready to moto. Where you guys pitting? I can set up my tent next door? [moto]

C group was uber crowded and uber slow. It wasn't till the afternoon that I got my knee back down in 9 and started cruising again. Then I had my first off track experience. I hit 7 way to fast and blew out of 8 at probably 85.... I thought to myself... try to dive bomb into 9... or take the grass knowing I am going into it... I decided to just hit the grass and hope for the best. I launched into the grass... probably at 70 or so... trail braked to slow me down.... front brake slid the front end out every time I would tap it... it was like trying to control a river raft while paddling with your hands... it was crazy... I ended up stopping about 5 feet from the tires... came around to point and got back out there.... my heart was pounding... but I had to get back out there and retake the corners again to get over that feeling.... I probably did much better the rest of the sessions because of it. I was trying to pick up too much speed due to the lack of speed in the morning sessions. All in all... it was a great day. Brought the family out as a pit crew. Everyone had a good time.

nice job yesterday Ryan, and great save.
BTW - Trail braking is used with late braking into a corner where you hold a little pressure on the front wheel to the apex and transition to throttle. I think in your case you meant using the back brake.
Did you tell me you were doing the 21st?

21st? I am still trying to swing a Southern California vacation around that time. Thinking of doing the last Race School with Cascade... on like the 31st ... not sure where the funds will be at that point though.
Quick question.... is riding on the grass always that dicey? I felt like the bike slid out from under my like 10 times... and all I could think of was how fast that tire barrier was coming at me... I have no idea how I saved it... but I do know that a hand full of front brake would have dumped me. I seemed to recall a lot of thinking... and knowing that I would rather slide the bike than hit the tires... cause ramming the tires would cost more than a right side of rear sets....

running into the grass with an impeding barrier is very dicey.
You can ever so slightly get your bike slowed down and turned to avoid the tire walls, Ive ran off there and got my bike back on the exit ok, but its pretty scary stuff.
Usually you can add small turning inputs with rear brake to change the bikes direction and slow down. When in the grass everything is about small inputs, if you grab a handful of front brake, you will go down, if you hammer the rear, you will probably slide out, etc.
You did the right thing as you didnt fall down. Good job!
I remember now you saying you wanted to go to California. CTT school will be fun.
Oh and before I go, good job on your first place yesterday and cash prize money!!

Winning money is always awesome!! Woo hoo!! For those of you who were not present... I anchored a Motorcycle, bicycle, and run triathlon... I think they called it a motathlon.... anyhow... my run was fast enough to beat Brian Pinkstaff.... for the win... (and the extra $100 put in if anybody beat the pinkstaffs...) However, Darren, hopped the barrier and cheated on the run... so most of the crowd thought he won.... that stinker... he did admit to it as soon as he got the checker though.... anyhow.... having just eaten lunch... and then running out on the hot track ... well... it was not fun trying to get back into my leathers after all that. But the money helped.

I don't know how you could do that....(good job btw!!)
My legs are so sore today, both my hamstrings and quads.
I felt like one of the slowest bicycle commuters on the ride to work today.
Perhaps I should start weight training again (squats).
Any suggestions?

Stairs. There are a couple places over by PSU... where there is like 10 flights of stairs straight up the side of a mountain... and then you can walk/jog the road back around to the bottom and can repeat all the back up.
