I think it'll do fine, and I think that they'll intentionally make less 1100's since they aren't as commonly purchased as Streetfighters or 696's.

I still want a streetfighter 848...
I'm glad they released the 796, makes me have a serious think about trading my Daytona. My first bike was an S2R 800, it was a great bike, a really nice balance and easy to ride.

I'm still crying because I can't afford a Streetfighter. Damn I love that bike!

From all the articles I have read, It is correct to say that the 1100 monster is not selling as well as the 696. The economy might have something to do with that. I too think they will just reduce production of the 1100 but I don't think they will kill it. There is still a market for those who want adjustable forks, dry clutch, and + 8hp.
As for the 696, they still need something to call an entry level bike. What they should do, and I hope they do, but most probably wont, is drop the price 1G. The 600 and 620 were their best selling bikes ever, being entry level and price appealing. They were like the gateway drug to Ducati motorcycling.
I always thought my next bike would be the 696, but the
796
with its sss and wheels seem really, really nice...
I may even spring for that Corsa or Sport 100 kit...

I received today a offer for swapping my 696+ (bought it this year, only 1.600 km) for a 796. I need to pay a surplus about 1.600 euros. I'm not sure what I gonna do, I will regret when I don't do it but on the other hand its 1.600 euros and that's a lot of money.

Look at it this way. The 796 is roughly $1000 or (800 euros) more anyway. All you have to ask yourself is, in the four months of ownership and the mileage you put on it, is that worth the other 800 euros.
With at least 1000 miles or 1600km on it, I would guess that is a good deal. You loss 800 euros the moment you rode off the lot, anyway....
Unless I read you wrong and you only have one mile on your 696.

well let's look at that.
you have had the bike for less than a year, rode it 1600km.
the base price is $1000 dollars or a little more. or about 700 euro.
so you are really only being charged about 900 euro for your use of the 696 over the last months and km's.
you could ONLY get that deal with a Ducati. any other bike and you'd be wayyyyyy more out of pocket.
EDIT: too fast for me. I was searchignfor the exact price difference but couldn't find it

My Kung-Fu is better than yours...
On my computers dashboard there is a convenient little conversion widget. I use it a lot. Widgets are neat...

This seems to be a bit high. It would have made more sense to drop the 696 1000 and price the 796 at 9499.

when I buy 696+ new it cost 8.500 euro and 796 will cost 9.100 euro. The difference is 600 euro, so they charging me 1.000 euros for 1700 km driving with my 696.
