its never too late to be who you might have been

« on: April 21, 2010, 05:36:53 AM »

So last night I sold my car. Today I have to ride my motorbike to work, firs I have to get it from Storage. On the way back home I get the scare of my life...........A young kid in a Honda Civic decides to change lanes in front of me...........I am doing 40-ish  . I grabbed a handful of brake and the for the first time ever managed to lock up the front end. The roads are wet. I lose traction, front end is locked and I am sliding......In a split second I see myself crashing into a brick wall underneath a railroad bridge.I release the brake find a dry spot tire gets traction almosts bucks me off and I am gone......I grabbed a handful of throttle and was outa there lickity split!. The  youngster catches up with me at the light and says ........"you're pretty good at stunting".He got the wrath! Oh did he get the wrath!!!
Have a wonderful day, BGB is back on the road, and ready to rock!

Glad you gave him a piece of your mind.

Best thing I ever did was take Cornerspin.  It's a road racing school in the dirt; you think you're going a helleva lot faster than you are and you learn all the mechanics behind sliding, etc. and learn how to react.  If you do fall...it's far less costly in every way than if you were on the road.

There have been a few times where that course saved my hide!

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.
