Mine came today. I put it on and took a ride. What a difference. My only question is why didn't I buy this thing last summer when I bought the bike. I highly suggest it, much better than the stock seat. Jim ![Smiley](http://ducatimonsterforum.org/Smileys/classic/smiley.gif)

Awesome...I heard they were back ordered. My seat blows, and your seat sounds like a great option, especially for much less than Corbin, etc.
Thanks for the feedback.

Have you left the seat in the sun yet? I'm curious how hot it gets.

I have, and it's not too bad, no gel to heat up.

the seats that had the gel pads in them are no longer made. the new seats for the new and older bikes are made by a different mfr (for ducati)

I purchased mine on eBay for $200 OTD. everywhere else was back ordered. I believe I ordered the seat back in January.

Whats the material like? Pics I've seen it looks permeable. I'm hunting for options and this looks like the best bang for the buck.
Haven't seen any compares between this seat (news to me they stopped with the gel) and, say, Sargent (thought Corbin was done).

I ordered mine from my dealer in March. They shipped it to me after they got it in (it is around 90 miles away). The seat is a different material than stock but seems higher quality than the stock seat. It is not as slippery as the stock seat and has a nice red stitching in it. It cost me about $230.

Hi, jsd2, do you have before and after pictures of your bike with the original and the new seat?
I am thinking of getting the Touring Comfort Seat for my 696 but without a chance to sit on it to compare it is hard to make the jump. Thanks.

The new 796 seat is flatter and in the pics it looks like there is some nice stitching details. Maybe the new Ducati accessory seats might also have these features and worth a wait. My touring seat is night and day better than stock, but if it was flatter, it would be even for more comfortable IMHO.

Sounds like you'd have no problem reselling it.

It took several months for mine to sell at $175 including shipping. But that was a year ago. I am thinking of getting the Touring Comfort Seat for my 696 but without a chance to sit on it to compare it is hard to make the jump. Thanks.
I would suggest trying to find someone local who will let you sit on theirs. I bought one and didn't like it. I took a $60 hit when I sold it. With the touring seat, it felt like I was sitting way above the bike. I believe several people have said that the low seat is another option that is better than the stock one.

The low seat is a good option if you're short. Lower stand over height and it's sloped towards the tank so you sit forward which is good for short arms. It sucks if you're tall. I'm about 6' and hated the low seat on my '03 800 Dark. Mashed my nards into the tank all the time and cramped my arms. I got the stock seat in regular height and it's so much better.
Incidentally, I like the stock seat and can ride all day in comfort. I sat on a Sargent and it is comfy but sits you back a bit farther so you have to lean a bit more, not compatible with my back. But it's a nice seat and you can always ask them to customize a little if you don't like it as is.
