will 2006 S4R exahust cans bolt onto an S2R1000?

I want to put the stock exahust back on my bike so i dont get anymore stinking tickets this year.

Hm, I don't know but tickets suck.  [puke]

He Man

From my reading on the forum...

S2R 1K is different from an S4R

No one has really ever cleared this topic up. S2R 800, S4R, S2R 1000. I have a feeling that the diameters are the issue. Seems to me however that the S2R 800 and the S4R are the same and the S2R 1000 for some reason is different. That is why the S2R 1K's exhaust is next to impossible to find. Also, the years come into play. Im looking for an exhaust for my 08 S2R, but I am most likely going to have to go thru the dealer and let them get the right one.
08' S2R 1K   That was close  damn near lost a $400 hand cart.

Wow, and your getting tickets for the exhaust?   Hm, out here in Cali they can't exactly give you tickets for exhausts.  Out here the law says that your exhaust cant be above a certian db, I think it 100db.  Since the cops have no way to prove how loud it is though they don't give you a ticket, unless its obscenely loud,

The "exhaust silencer" for the s2r1k is #

573.1.077.6A    Top RH silencer (TERMIGNONI)
573.1.078.6A    Bottom Rh silencer (TERMIGNONI)

S4R
573.1.077.2A     Top RH silencer
573.1.078.2A     Bottom Rh silencer

The item numbers match except for the last number before the "A", so if you can find out what that number means then you can find out if they'll work or not....maybe?

Case S2R

I can clear it up, the answer is No.

Stock S4R exhaust cans do not work on stock S2R 1000 exhaust pipes.  The inlet diameter of the S4R can is larger than the S2r can.  You will need to fabricate an adapter which usually turns out to me more time consuming than diggin up a set of S2R cans.

The actual difference is approx 50mm to 40mm but if you want specifics, PM Yotigi he has tried it, can measure the inlets and has a set of each.

He Man

ugh that sucks. I thought it was the S4R Testas not the desmoquats that have the 50mm.

thanks for the clearing up.

Porsche Monkey

Oh and just for shits and giggles its spelled exhaust.  [thumbsup] ;D

I have a set of '04 S4R take-offs that I will measure for you tomorrow.

No sense in playing the guessing game.

my buddy measured them and he said they're about 41.75mm, BUT he didnt have a caliper so im not sure exactly how accurate that was. I fly out tomorrow and I should see him this weekend. I'll bring my caliper and get a final measurement for you  [thumbsup]
