"We are going for a ride"

Hi all,
For those who are looking at a well priced exhaust system, motowheels have a good special going.

I have a QD on my 695 & I love it!
Cheers

hows the clearence Tony?
I get out the track occasionally so I wouldn't want to lose clearence...
dont spoze you have any pics of the rear so I can see how far it'll get over?

speaking on behalf of Tony he has bottomed out on something, believe it was a speed hump though - hopefully you wont encounter those on the track - as for leaning clearance pretty well go right over - the box isnt much wider than a rear tyre - and that is on Tony's 695.
Exbox comes with header pipes.  The look really opens up the back - considering one for my S2R - as an alternate performance mod - not bling!  Grin

Yes, bottomed out once when I first fitted them.  They are adjustable up & down by around an inch....I had mine set low & also my rear shock was set very low.  It a big lump of bitumen on a rough road going faster than I should have.  It didnt damage the box at all but just left a small scratch on the bottom so it was quite minor (just scared the hell out of me when I did it!).

Since then I've lifted the box up as high as possible & have lifted the rear up a bit more & I havent had any probs.

Here's a few pics that I just took with the phone:

Its a bit hard to gauge the clearance from the ground while the bike is on a stand.  I dont think you'll have any clearance issues on a track & certainly cornering clearance will not be affected.

Yes they come as a complete kit with the box & header pipes etc.  There is even a baffle to blank off one of the exhausts for "on road use"! Ha as if anyone will be using that! Evil

wish I knew someone here in WA with one, so I could see it in the flesh..
thanks for the pics, but if you get a few moments, can you take some more?
one from the back of the bike maybe..  below axle level..   Grin  (dosn't matter if its on the side stand)
and even one from the left side...

g'donya Tony   waytogo

I'm being a bit paranoid! I've had an under engine exhaust before and it didn't give a lot of clearence on the road, less on the track!

do you know is it made of stainless?

I'm pretty much sold tho...   Smiley

Yes its stainless.

I can take some measurements of the box if you like....maybe from the mounting point at the top to the bottom which will give you an idea of clearance on your bike to the ground?

thanks, but its not the ground height of the exbox that worries me, its the clearence when the bikes layed over..
I've already ground through a r/h peg (when I had the standard ones on..) and the exhaust is also worn through on the side.. (even after I welded in a beveled patch!).
The under enginge exhaust I had was heaps worse.

judgeing from the rear shots you posted, there dosn't look like a problem. (tho, would I be a prick if I asked for one a bit further back, and to the right and one to the left a bit!!)  Evil

I reckon its a gunna be a done deal!   Seems like a good price to, thanks for the link.  Smiley

These are pics of my old exhaust back in 2006...  in the shot from the rear you can see it sticking out the right side.

Was that a custom exhaust you had?

Yes the price is really good on the Ex-box...I paid $999 for mine from them last year & the exchange rate wasnt as good as it is now either....get a couple....I'm sure you could sell them pretty easy & make a few $$

I dont think you'll have any cornering issues with the exhausts. waytogo
