Stock exhaust mod advise

I'm on a quite tight budget on my Monster project and would therefore like to know if anyone have done something to make the stock exhaust to look and sound any better? Ideas are also welcome, so far I'm only considering coating the whole kit to make it stand out less at least.

What type of exhaust do you have?  You can core and shorten them.

Let us know what kind of bike you have.  There's a good amount of mods you can do with all of the stock pipes.
