I did the wiring for it- it is really easy. Not necessarily a Winter mod, you could do everything in a day if you had all your parts together.
For the wiring you can solder and shrink tube the new connector to the old harness which I prefer (permanent and more secure) or even easier would be to use butt connectors or other crimp-on connectors. Read any basic 12v wiring write up on line and you should be able to figure it out.
As far as powder coating, you COULD get away with rattle can if you prime first, sand in between coats, and clear coat but it could chip easily. The only reason we had the part powder coated is because we modded the headlight mount "ear" brackets shorter so the light would sit closer to the forks.
Also, you need to bend two short pieces of aluminum or steel to hold instrument cluster because it normally mounts to top of stock headlight. Check out DoWorkSon's write up on it for more info:

You must also re-mount the gauge cluster... Installing headlight is easy, making a bracket to hold the gauge cluster takes some time and trial and error... Especially difficult if you don't have appropriate tools.
@chiu... Anything is possible... I bet that headlight costs a pretty penny

All good information, thanks. This project is getting closer and closer to happening and I couldn't be more excited. So you mentioned the soldering the new connectors to the old harness. Is this pretty straight forward? Once I am confident that I can do the electrical work I will get the wheels rolling of the project. Also, what about the turn signals? Do you have to replace the stock ones when you do the headlight? Do you get rid of them all together? Or do you use the stock ones?

You can probably get away with fitting the stock ones, but it would look lame. Either buy a nice Rizoma set, a cheap plastic set, or don't run any. The "ear" brackets for the headlight should come with spaces to mount.
As far as wiring, it is straight forward- the new connector has same amount of leads, just match up the stock harness to new plug, clip, solder new connections and shrink tube. OR, like I said, if you aren't so hot soldering then us "butt" connectors or plug connectors.

just a heads up, if you want to purchase the dual headlights and monsterparts can't get them google "dominator headlights" and you will find this style. I had a set of them on my older gen Monster years ago.
I don't know what the headlight connection plug looks like on the newer monster, but if it's a common 3 prong, you can go to napa and pick one up, then install that plug to your new light. I don't know if you ever plan to do track days, but it's nice to be able to disconnect your headlight completely, just something to think about.
Also in case you change your mind in the future

It's a different connector than the older monsters. I'd probably just cut it off and attack the connector to the dual headlights. If I wanted to switch back, solder it.
