Pretty much why I will no longer visit the area on a weekend (unless I want my picture taken again...see avatar)  I'm fortunate that my Fridays are either a short or no-work day for me, so I get my Monica's fix on that day.  Really mellow crowd of  old guys (like me!) hang out, tell tall tales, and ride.  Just make sure you are off the roads by 3 so you dont have to deal with the commuters.  Last Friday, Las Virgenes/Malibu Cyn Rd was like a two-lane parking lot!

Last weekend we did Decker to mullholand, ate, then mullholland to cold creek to piuma, to schueren. down to topanga, then old topanga, up stunt, down scheuren to los flores, up pch to Decker, mullholland to pch, up to Yerba buena, and back down decker to westlake, then potero home. Nice lil ride!

I made it from KC, MO to L.A. in less than 36 hours.  Leave now, and you could EASILY be here by saturday... just say'n...

I'm with Bacon Junkie.
On weekends I'll only ride down there early in the am. I always get the vibe there's a lot of people heading to the Rockstore to be at the Rockstore. Looking for Jay, etc. As opposed to the righteous riding. It's the tuner wreckage that worries more than anything. I saw some bad accidents and some of those guys get way over the center line.
And then there's the LEO presence.
I took my cousin from Nor Cal down there and he was freaked. But he's spoiled. So close to great roads AND wineries

I prefer the ACH.
