I have no idea why this happens, but my AIM will work, and my firefox google homepage will work, but everything else is own. DMF, craigslist, myspace, facebook, gmail, you tube, random websites that get no traffic. My xbox 360 wont connect, but i can still carry on AIM messages.

Ive tried using another browser, spybot and adaware + avg + online trend microhouse  doenst give me anything. It happens pretty frequently. and i get blocked out for about 2mins. any idea what this is? cant find anything related to this on the net either.

have you tried running the scans in safe mode (after rebooting, and pressing F8 to go to safe mode)?
also recommend downloading TrendMicro's HijackThis (they bought out Merijn's program) and if you can post up the logfile afterwards. and we can go from there.

Have you tried powering off/on your modem and/or router?

When my power goes out I usually have to do that to get my wireless to work again.

if AIM works, then you have IP connectivity, which means you are sending packets on port 5190 ( or in that range).  The default home page could be cached.  Looks like you are not getting traffic out on port 80 or less likely having dns issues.    Are you behind a router/firewall of sorts? Any kind of http proxy or filter ?

  I have had this happen in 3 scenarios;

1. my desktop firewall chokes on logs or hangs-  check windows firewall or whatever you have
2. my router hangs ( usually log issue , i ended up turning logging off)- if turning the router on and off as suggested by smiling end works, then the issue could be the router ( which if restarting helps, then updating firmware and changing settings is the next step)
3.  my isp having physical issues with connectivity at my cable jack )( i added a cable booster and no more issues since)

worse case , the hijackthis could show a problem on your pc.
