Dude,  we all know you mean well, and have the best interests and safety of your fellow DMF'rs in mind, and we appreciate that.

But, sometimes you come off a little harsh/sarcastic/whatever, especially if a member isn't familiar with your writing style.  It's hard to convey tone of voice and inflection over the interwebz... Even with a  Wink or a  waytogo

Anyway, I learned something new about Long Beach.   Smiley

Thanks for your expertise.   chug

That's the bottom line.

You painted yourself as naive. Sorry if me being concerned with your safety bothered you.

... I appreciate the concern for my safety- but I'm not a naive person, nor did I say anything like "omg, i can't believe this happened," "long beach isn't like this," etc.  I appreciate your experience and advice but I will politely disagree with you.

That's the bottom line.

Well, I could tell my bosses that if they didn't have their heads shoved up their collective butts, and listened to me when I first offered them a solution to a particular problem, we could have avoided this bigger problem. But that probably wouldn't go over too well.

There's something to be said about good presentation...

The bottom line isn't always the bottom line...  People tend to ignore it when the rest of the statement comes off sounding cocky or condescending.  Undecided

First, sorry to hear about Embyr's misfortune.  Hopefully the bike is on the road (get it?) to being fully repaired soon...  I work in/near LB and hate hate hate the stupid SOBs who foul up that area.

Next, let's all agree that all people have a different way of expressing themselves.  hbliam's work requires a certain terseness in language so it only makes sense that it carries over.  I'm sure most everyone here just wants to look out for everyone else.

Not to state the obvious, but have you considered moving somewhere with more parking space?  And if you find such a place in Belmont or somewhere else in LB, let me know if they have more units... I'm looking to move closer to work.  Grin

^ i found a better place to park the bike when i get her back... but no, she doesn't fit in the garage, and parking only the bike and not the car isn't an option. (there is literally NO street parking after 5pm)
i'd move but i'm applying to grad schools this fall anyway... kinda not worth it. moving's a pregnant dog.

but they are repairing the bike... ordering parts as of today. Smiley

^ i would like to know that as well! i'm guessing 3 weeks. between the number of bikes they have in the shop, the amount of work, dealing with ins. and the possibility some parts may have to come from italy (we'll see... hopefully not, ack, we all know how long that takes), it'll probably take somewhere around that time. i hope not, though! i'm getting antsy.

On the bright side, your shoes match the tank nicely.   Smiley

Glad to see the ball rolling on getting you back on two wheels...

What year Monster is it again? What parts do you need?  I know some of us on the board have extras of different things that you might be able to use.  For instance, duc_poultry had a tank for duc750 when he banged his up. Duck-Stew hooked me up with some extra rearsets he had, etc...

Post up what you need, maybe some of the riders here have what you need for a lot less $$$ than if you were to order brand new OEM stuff from Italy.

Good luck getting back on two wheels soon..   chug

^ aw, thanks!  i know i need new headlights and an instrument cluster... but really, since insurance is getting raped, i mean, covering all of it, it's not really a problem. i do appreciate it though. Smiley  (plus i think everything was already ordered.)

(although if anyone else needs random 750 dark parts i have some from my old bike, lol)

why thank you!!   Grin

Embyr,

Any updates on how your bike is coming along?

How long 'til you're back on two wheels?
