Every time I'm at a sporting event, I wonder why I see sports photographers lugging a brace of cameras, all with such ridiculously huge lenses on them. Then I see the pictures and remember.

This is the bike Pegram was racing last year. Larry is supposed to race this bike at the Springfield Mile this year.

Thanks for finding the video -- that was very cool! Looked like it was shot from the press area near the pits, so a great vantage point to see the finish.

We staked out a spot at the top of the track-level grandstands as close as we could get to Turn 1 -- all day long it was fun hearing the riders lift off the throttle and start sliding the back wheel. By the end of the day, I could close my eyes and tell which brand of motor & style of pipes was going past by the sound of the popping and decelerating through the open pipes. Wicked cool.
