Here is the new toy, at least for a few weeks.  Didn't need or particularly want another 4v sbk, but the price was waaaaaay to good to pass up.  Sadly, a few of the major bits are already pre-sold.  Insurance cost for this one is as much as my other 3 bikes (2 ducs and a KTM), which is another reason why I can't keep her long term.

Anyway, some details:

57/60mm LV Corse system (#7171) in titanium
HP Brembo calipers
HP Brembo rotors
Ohlins WSBK forks, billet lowers, anod' black
Ohlins rear shock
05+ swingarm
Forged Magnesium wheels
Carbon air runners
Yoyodyne slipper clutch
And of course the carbon fairings/nose/tail section.

Enjoy the pics, I'm going riding Cheesy

absolutely delicious, although it almost doesn't look quite right without the "gills" up front.

Want.

Just got back!

 Grin Grin Grin

I now remember why I sold my 999 after I bought the s4r.  It sucks in town, low speed, traffic, bleh.  That leo system (or any full system) will cook your ass as well.

Then I found my 5 minute road after getting dinner.  I now remember why I want a SBK again.  The 2 hours spent piddling around, traffic, food, burning up....totally worth it.  This thing is on rails.  Last bike I've been riding was the st4s, which was pretty fun.  Same roads/corners same speed = boring on this thing.  If felt particularly good turning in, or should I say "falling in".  Once "in", it wanted to stay there, with little/no effort.  I then noticed that the head angle was flipped.....and it's got the 27mm billet ohlins triples on it as well (Nice 1k bonus I didn't spot when I looked at it in the dark).

Completely impractical, hot, jerky and low speeds suck, practicallity zero, not comfortable.  And for the 5-10 minutes of nearby jaunts.....totally worth it.  It's going to be fun next week on the east coast meetup!

I do need to put the barge boards on it.

are the barge boards the side panels at the very front? What purpose do they serve?

I saw the triples, but wasn't sure if that was just on the "R" model or not - I've fondled a Xerox recently, but wasn't sure if they were different for other reasons.

Is it supposed to serve a purpose? I am not a fan of things that are not to serve a go-fast purpose being on a bike. (stop it, i know you were about to make jokes about my person sitting on a bike, and i want to cut it off now)

Exactly  Wink
Which is why, incidentally, I'm considering getting rid of the Monster and just having superbikes, with maybe a Multi 1200 for "comfort."
And that 999 is lovely; I don't know if I could possibly part something like that out, once I'd gotta hold of it.

Sport bike and street bike. Forget about the monster. Jack of all trades master of none.

You hit the nail on the head with the 2hrs of pain for 5min of bliss remark - could not agree more.  So worth it.

Looks like an S model with R panels and other tasty bits?  Very nice.
