After removing the stock mirrors and flyscreen for a meaner more "Monster-ish" look, I found that the stock master cylinder reservoirs stuck out in an unattractive way.
Well I just happened to have a some 999 master cylinder reservoirs laying around. They are often removed from that bike when the bars are raised to get more fairing clearance, so there should be plenty out there.
Really easy swap, but you will need the back half of the perches without mirror bosses from a HYM or 999, and the funky adapter bolt/bleeder that holds the cup to the master. You need the perches for clearance on the cups, and also becuase they look way better now that the mirrors are gone. The perches are easy enough to get, but Ducati doesn't sell the bolt/bleeder adapter seperate of the master cylinder. So if you don't have a used one available you can't get it from Ducati. Jen @ DucatiOmaha was able to get me a set from a Brembo importer. Probably Yoyodyne.
The only other thing you'll need to do is flip the throttle assembly 90 degrees and drill a new locating hole for it, as the 999 had the throttle cable exiting the bottom of the housing. It doesn't affect function or looks to any great degree. Be precise with your drilling, because there is a narrow window for the cable to pass through on the bottom of the master cylinder. It is also important that you have your levers angled the way you like them when you choose the location of the throttle assembly, because when you are done there will be very little room to change the position after.
Anyway, here are a couple pics.
