It has been a rough week for me.  Work has been crazy, my personal life has been difficult and stressful, and I hadn't had an opportunity to ride.  After spending 6 hours in the cage yesterday and today I got home, it was Sunday afternoon and I had stuff to take care of around the house.  Then the Sunday afternoon / evening anxiety started to set in where I start thinking about all of the stuff I need to get done this coming week.   bang head

I looked out the window at the Monster under the cover.

30 seconds later the gear was coming on.  5 minutes later the cover was off and the bike was idling.

I punched the gas and before even leaving the condo complex I was being stupid and feeling better.   Evil

I don't think I got out of third gear during the entire 50 mile ride, but I know I hit the rev limiter in every gear I was in.  Grin  I have been swapping between the Triumph and the Monster recently and after not riding this week I guess I had forgotten how quickly the Monster can just wipe my mind clean and make me feel awesome.

I feel much better now.  I love my monster.

On another note...
I've started wearing ear plugs because I need to keep what little hearing I have, but with the Monster I can still feel the bike, and when I'm really getting on the gas I can hear it well.  I think this contributes to me going much faster but being more relaxed.

Thanks, that's all I've got.

The great thing about riding is that you can only think about the task at hand. Leaning over in a corner prevents thoughts of work (and other bullshit) from invading. Glad you had a chance to have some fun and make the rest of the world disappear for a bit.

It's the one place nobody can find me unless I want to be found.

I can be in 8 different counties in one afternoon.

From wide open farm land to deep in the Forest .

Riding through State Parks , Covered Bridges, all the twisty roads I want, to deep valleys w, Caves & Water Falls to touching a Metropolis like Columbus.

What a great way to go through Life.

Between a full time job on 3rd shift, three kids at home under the age of 5, and my mech. engineering classes, my moto commute is my only sanity.  That would be why I ride rain, shine, hot, cold, etc.  Also why I turn my 16 mile ride from work to home into a 31 mile trip through the country.  Take it when you can get it, I guess.

I usually shoot for at least 3 different states!  It's amazing what a quick getaway on the bikes do ~

Oh, I know it!!!! I thought you all would share my sentiment.  Today was another killer, but after tomorrow things should be better for a little bit.
