so i wasnt too sure how to act the other day, and i wanted some of your input on the subject. i was out with some friends for dinner, and when i came out to the parking lot
i saw a guy taking pics of my monster. i wasnt too sure how i felt about it cause he was getting close up pics of the frame, engine, rims and my license plate. i asked what he was doing but turned out he didnt speak english ... i am thinking maybe it was Italian. anyways this is not the first time ive found strangers taking pics of my bikes. i prey he is not doing recon work so that he can try and steel it later. am i being paranoid? would you guys get mad if you found some strager taking close up pics of your bike? or even worse sitting on your bike to pose for pics without your permission? thanks for the feed back
it is so much easier to get forgiveness then it will ever be to get permission.

a foreign person taking pictures of the bike like a tourist...no biggie...getting on my bike without my permission regardless of what he/she is doing or why, I grab them by the scruff of their neck and get very personal very quickly!

I guess it depends on where you store your bike and how as to how secure you should feel and also what kind of insurance you have for to replace the bike if something should happen...but maybe that is just me....

While my parents were in Bologna, Rome, and Tropea on the 30th anniversary, they were sending me photos of every motorcycle they saw.  I wouldn't worry about it, even if it was recon it was the worst recon ever conducted and his thievery skills are probably subpar.

hmm, pissed, offended, or flattered sounds like the answers available to me today on my annual sexual harassment training course.

I had a foreigner ask to take a picture of my bike not too long ago. I said sure and took a step back. They waved me back toward the bike and wanted to take a picture of me standing next to it. I thought it was a little weird but what can you do.

I took a picture of a hot Italian woman riding a scooter with her little dog in Florence - guilty myself.

Not to worry.

Pictures, no problem. Sitting on my bike and it's knuckle time. Would you let some guy pat your SO on the ass? Same deal to me.

That was exactly the analogy I was about to make...very different from taking pics.  Like a stranger looking at my guitar versus picking it up without permission and trying to play it.  I'd have to get all El-Kabong on him....

As long as he's taking pics of your bike and not you. You never know when you might show up on AMW.

The automatic reaction to someone sitting on some of your bikes is punching?  What if that person is a badder dude than you?  I'd be annoyed, unless it was a cute girl (hey, a guy's got to have his double standards) but certainly not feeling punchy.  Then again, it's the interwebs, so maybe I should act type tougher.

ive had hot girls ask me if they could sit on my 848 to take pics when i was at the beach in Waikiki and of corse i let them sit anywhere they wanted too, but they asked first. now if i came out of the store and saw a hot girl siting on my bike before i said its ok, she better at least give me her phone number so that i would be distracted about being mad. in my younger days on Guam i would have just gotten in a fight just for the fun of it if it was some guy but being more mature now (or at least trying to) i am more inclined to let things go. one thing i am affraid of though is that hawaii being a small island, if i piss off some one and they take it out on my bike when i am not around just cause thats the best way to really hurt me. i guess pics in general with out permission are ok as long as its from  at least 5 feet away, and if you want up close personal shots just wait till the owner comes out and ask them. thanks for the input at least i know i am not a total a$$hole
