Not for me anyway - chop looks great on pictures, but with me at 6' 4" on it, the bike looks too short/small. Also I like to stay "dry" on my back in the wet conditions that I ride in all the time.

Hi guys,

I generally hang on the main board, but I need to start checking here much more regularly - place to be when it comes to finding group rides in oz.

I chopped my S4 - I'm very happy with the result. But I kept EVERYTHING - so I can always return it to stock. And now I"m about to chop my pipes! The photoshopped image on the right is what they'll look like once I trim 10cm off.

TOB had a post detailing the re-attachable tail chop. Hell, I'm too tired to write - prepare for ms paint!

Essentially, insert bar, slide parts together, weld. The welding will damage the paint, so that section will need to be refinished. However, the indicator assembly covers that entire section, so the weld would be invisible. The frame itself is about 2mm thick.. so you'd want something comparable to give strength.

My process would be a little more difficult as I don't have plugs in my frame - I have indicators which would be need to be removed (in pieces).

That's how I'd do it... but I'm open to suggestions!

lol. My 10 yr old nephew recently saw 'The Fast and the Furious', and thought it was the greatest movie in creation.

My Sacchs shock cylinder was looking pretty dull,.. so we painted a redbull can, siliconed it in place - and there you have it. Got the sticker on ebay. The gauge was free - courtesy of a guy testing fire extinguishers in our building who loves Ducatis.

also - the cut cans look good too....was 10cm the limit for cut without cutting the inner core pipes?

no, it comes "as is". had to drill the holes in a tray itself

The majority of rides have been organised in and around Syd, tho the Melb peeps are starting to get their act together in recent times!

Did you keep the stock indicators Tri? I'll be keeping mine - for a while at least - which I think would make it look dodgy, but I'm still thinking.

I replaced the indicators too, only $30 odd a pair but look heaps better.

Hey Spider, long time, no see. Thanks for sending me the message re this board! The NOS can is a big hit with my nephew's friends: seriously, would anything be cooler than a Ducati with NOS?

I'm not sure how far I can cut my cans - it seems to vary from bike to bike. I'm going to just have to take the plunge, and see what happens. I started a thread in 'Accessories & Mods', which details what I've managed to find out so far: http://ducatimonsterworldwide.org/index.php?topic=3568.0

Hey Goldfish, I'm 150km north of Melbourne - Bendigo.

Holy Cow, DosVerde, if you are riding a monster S4R (or S4RS - I'm ashamed to say I didn't look closely enough) with a sweet Rizoma clutch cover with plexiglass front, then yes, you did indeed meet me in Gisborne when I was out mountain biking (of sorts). It's a small, small world.
