fuel tank quick disconnect options?

The monster has one feed and one return like every other FI system in existence.

OK, now I've got to double check the Triumph.  From memory, when I replaced the plastic ones with the Colder brand brass valves from the recall, I only remember one line.  Granted, it was more than 9 years ago when I did it, so I'm sure you're correct.

Any more tips on installing the in-line fittings on the monster?  Ways to avoid dumping a ton of gas in my driveway?  Positioning of the fittings with relation to the tank, #2 cylinder head, etc?

I got my parts from Omega, they look very nice. Made by the same company as the plastic ones
but both seem to fit together really nice. and both sides shut down completely when pulled apart


i havent installed yet, but when i have to take off my fuel tank now, i ride it until the light comes on, then tip the tank back, put some vice grips on the lines and pull them off with a gas catcher handy

still spill fuel but at least it doesnt pour everywhere. And as was mentioned, put the valves in opposite directions so you cant mix them up (i really liked the different colored valves shown!)

If you buy an extra connector, you can add a length of fuel line to it and use it to drain your tank.  Just disconnect the fuel lines from the tank (you got the auto-shut-off connectors, right?) and plug in the drain line.

If you want the very, very best lines, I'd go for Swagelok.  We do a lot of cryogenic stuff at work, and we use lots of Swagelok fittings.  They do fittings for all sorts of fluids, and you can get them in stainless as well as brass.  We use the stainless kit for our helium lines, and they're really beautiful.

thats an awesome idea!

btw i got one plastic connector before i decided to go with metal (from ebay cheap)

so i can verify that the plastic ones WILL snap into the metal peices. so go for the plastics for the drain
set to keep things cheapish.
