Just to start this thread off on a funny side, while searching the main forum, I came across this link as I thought converting a wet to a dry clutch may be a solution......

Folks Folks, this is all much simpler than that.  




Done.  And for under 100$ too.

OK, Actual issue.

Newly purchased 02 M620. I changed the oil with Motul 5100 10W50, without really riding much...just a habit.
Clutch slips in 3rd/4th when opening up, wouldn't have thought the clutch was gone yet, so some other possible conclusions.....

1) Oil for some reason had more friction mod's - drop oil out and start again?
2) Clutch springs loose - lean bike over, remove clutch cover and tighten? (not really)
3) 620 clutch springs are too soft and slip - change with harder springs (I have a set from a M900 dry....would they fit? Or even change out a couple)
4) Plates glased - remove and hit with some wet & dry
5) Adjust clutch lever piston out - wouldn't it slip in every gear?
6)The clutch plates are buggered - change out completely

Suggestion anyone

could be soft clutch springs - I had a similar problem on an old race bike - the cheats way was to pack an extra washer or two on top of the springs - probably best buying new springs and replacing them  Grin

I am sure someone will come along with more intelligent advice than I have (read loony888)  [moto] waytogo

I find that in 3rd and 4th that i can have smooth gear changes, when the bike gets to certain revs it just revs out then drops back where it should be and we continue riding spiritedly...

All noise not much movement...

Love the video too...

When I was working for the Ducati dealer in Cairns, used to see a few Ducati's with wet clutches coming in with Clutch slip problems
using the 5100 10-50 oil, one of the biggest dealers in Cairns use to push Motul pretty hard and that was what he used to push the most,
just about all of them used to switch to the 7100 oil 10-40 or to the Shell oil recommended by Ducati, and the vast majority never had
anymore issues.

Actually what happens....fine in 1st / 2nd and powered take offs, the thought the clutch would be under more load at this point, however I guess closer ratio engine to final drive in low gears may reduce load....not my speciality
