Accidentaly put ethanol 10% in the Monster the other day
didn't think it would be too much of a drama .
Bike is running like vomit.
I was wondering if due to ethanol being hygroscopic may have some thing to do with this?

I put the fuel in the day before all the rain and had not ridden it until last night, stalling /low power even sounded completely different.

Its weird as when I run my truck on 10% it goes great and performs like high octane fuel.

I was also advised by Mike at Desmo clinic to generally run regular unleaded 91 octane bike runs well on that but every now and again I will put BP Ultimate 98 and the engine sounds louder and feels perky.
I have read in the Northern hemi this is quite an issue as most pumps contain ethanol hope we don't go that way.

Anyone else have similar issues with this fuel?

I have tried to avoid it Dez so can't report.

I have also been advised to use 91 especially in the 620. The problem is that a lot of the 91 octane pumps now only have 'ethanol inside'. Its become a little bit like the 'may contain traces of nuts' warning as some bowsers (BP comes to mind) are now stating 'may contain up to 10% ethanol' ... so I may have inadvertently added ethanol at some stage.

Side note (and I haven't read any of the threads specifically about it) but isn't ethanol suggested to be the cause of much of the tank swelling problems being encountered in the US?

he we go again there is a hole thread devoted too what fuel too run dez as for running shit etheno blend is thiker so its harder for the injectors to spray poperly just drain your tank and fill up with 95 and go for a long ride it wont hurt nothing short term but dont run 91 because the ethanol is in a lot of pumps and ducati says not too run ethanol fuels because of plastic tank damage cheers bazz

Ethanol has been known to cause gasket, o-ring and seal deterioration in some fuel systems on some vehicles/bikes!! Shocked

I think some manufacturers err on the side of caution when they suggest not to use ethanol added fuels.  waytogo

Drain the tank and put it in your truck asap, put in some new fuel and go for a ride to get rid of it, it's gonna stuff up your fuel system otherwise.
