I don't really think Vale's shoulder had anything to do with the outcome. He said it didn't bother him until late race. Rossi simply didn't have the race pace to be honest. Looking at practice times, Vale never was consistantly fast like Jorge was... Stoner might have given him a run with a better start, but I think it was simply Lorenzo's weekend.
i'd have to look at the lap chart, but i don't think rossi even tried to chase him.

So Stoner's pretty much saying Hayden caused his crash, but the boss ain't buying?
http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/159981/1/slower_riders_causing_stoner_falls.html
This even though he crashed after he passed Hayden and in Qatar he crashed while all alone out front? He really has to work on that story.

gm2, maybe you can take some solace in the fact that Spies and Stoner have the same amount of championship points coming into the fourth round

Q You also had a box seat for Casey's crash, unfortunately. What did you see of that?
A I mean, I seen it right ... it was right in front of me. I seen the front - well, yeah, I seen the front go a little, and then I seen his left foot come off. I was right there. I know it always looks like slow motion, but seemed like forever. The front was gone, and he was on his elbow, and he was trying to save it, and I couldn't open the throttle because he was staying on line. And I was thinking, "I'm about to, the guys behind me are about ..." It seemed like a long time. I don't know. But anyway, I was waiting to open the throttle, and he just ... when I passed him, he was still had it on his knee. That was it. I seen him, I'm not sure what. Lost the front.
that kind of vague, back-handed 'could be someone else's fault' bullshit is par for the course with stoner. he never outright blames his troubles on others but ALWAYS suggests something like this. my suspension was sabotaged, the tire was bad, rossi braked too hard, i can't race i just need to be out front.. blah blah blah.
and yeah, all those
seen
s are making my skin crawl.

rough going for the ben, no doubt. exactly how he said it would be and exactly how no one else thought it would be. i think there are 7 tracks this year he's never seen before. looking forward to getting to the ones he does.

"But team manager Vittoriano Guareschi felt that Stoner had been pushing hard when he fell, rather than backing off, and pointed out that he had clear track ahead of him." I see this as his manager calling him out.
Also, Stoner had just run a 1:34.5 I believe which was fastest on track at the time. I call BS as him falling due to going slow. He was pushing hard and binned it again. I already did, but I called BS in Qatar also, because he was setting race fastest laps at the time of his fall and he once again blamed "not pushing" and unloading the front. Notice after the race that Rossi commented on the 800's. He said if you don't have the race pace on these bikes and try to push harder, you just crash, so its better to accept points and move on to the next week. I'm not saying Stoner didn't have the pace, but under full fuel load, probably not the bike at the time to pull out the extra 4-5 tenths and dumped it.

I think it's interesting that they made the bike easier to ride by all accounts and Stoner is now having more trouble with it. I don't know, if this form continues I think he might be done. Blaming other people for shit is no way to solve your issues. Maybe Stoner could use some advice from Matt Mladin: it's not the bike, fix yourself.

I didn't see the video myself, but apparently Stoner explained in a post-race interview that Hayden's data wasn't useful because Nicky isn't fast enough
.
Even if it's true, it's not a very tactful thing to say.

This is what Stoner had to say about Nicky and using his data:
"Nothing against Nicky, but I’ve been able to run a lot faster lap times and problems normally come when you start pushing a little more. So, when Nicky starts becoming more comfortable with the bike and the lap times start dropping he might start having issues like I am now."
What an complete asshat.

That's not fair to Spies - he's put down more laps and has one less crash than Stoner.
