What's a Philistine?  Is that like a pansy?

From the repository of all Truth and Wisdom, Wikipedia:
Quote
Philistinism is a derogatory term used to describe a particular attitude or set of values. A person called a Philistine (in the relevant sense) is said to despise or undervalue art, beauty, intellectual content, or spiritual values. Philistines are also said to be materialistic, to favor conventional social values unthinkingly, and to favor forms of art that have a cheap and easy appeal (e.g. kitsch).

It's a short drive from Tres Piedras to Albuquerque....and you could visit a REAL grocery store, too!!  (And a nudie bar where the Mayor's older Sister isn't the star attraction)

Sorry we keep missing out on the latest movie fests.
We'll be in SF tomorrow eve, and going to see Machete.  Watching Grind House tonight as a "Prep".

Fiestas are starting Thursday in SF with the burning of Zozobra. The band La Hunta is playing...don't get better than that...for NM. that is.

One word:  MACHETE

Actually had one of the better movie stories I've seen in a long time... When you look through the jello blood & body parts floppin' around on the ground.

Most fun I have had at a movie in a long time.  ...And it was $11.25 for two (Sat. 1:45 showing)

Turns out you didn't miss much in the way of movies, L'Smart.  We watched Innocent Blood and talked about race bikes most of the night, along with astronomy, tequila, NMMR folks, track days, and New Mexican cuisine.  A nice game of penny poker broke out, but Stu took care of that nasty Matt so it all turned out well.   Grin

Maybe next time.

Meanwhile, thanks to all of you who came out (Matt, Krystle, Stuart, and Ed) for an excellent Saturday evening.
