Yeah, I was wondering if it would get in my legs way, the other way. It does work like a charm though. 

never got close to my leg... it does the job either way and if youre happy with it the "right" way then by all means dont change a thing

They are actually mountain bike mirrors. I had them on my monster for a while. Here's a link:

Yeah, that sounds about right. I think they were  called Third Eye or something, but they do work very well, no shaking. They do need the occasional tightening.  They're really inexpensive. $20 or so.
