12k services in San Francisco Bay Area.

I need to have my 1999 M900 in for 12k service.
The mechanic I usually go to is not responding.
Nichols is good price (~$500) but they are booked 3 weeks out.
Another place I just called wanted $1000. (Yikes)
So anyone have any good leads on Ducati Service?
I may just have to drop it off at Nichols and hope I get it back by MotoGP!!!
Thanks

Never had a bike in there for service, but Munroe Motors has always been really helpful and professional with parts and my dumb questions.

+1 for Munroe .... had 7.5k service done for my Rs which included valve adjustments and left very satisfied and with a reasonable $900 bill.
As a reference point, I had moved from the east coast and a stealer-ship there quoted me $1k + additional cost of valve adjustments!

Desmotosport
. Start there. Stay away from Munroe.

+ eleventy billion for desmotosport.
if you are not close to nichols, or nichols have too long a wait, desmotosport is always a good choice.

in all fairness, nichols also provide warranty on all their work ... as do the ducati dealerships.
the nice thing about nichols and desmotosport ... i don't know of anyone who has HAD to use the warranty ... as both of these groups do the work right THE FIRST TIME

In the north bay "The Motorcycle Shop" in Santa Rosa is a good option, have been happy w/ the service on my bike....this is now an independent repair and used bike consignment shop (and there are always a few Ducs on the floor) , was formerly a dealer and known as Moto Meccanica.
(I have no connection to the place, am just a satisfied customer)

Interesting that no one brought up the other dealer north of the red bridge, off the Central San Rafael exit, close to Moto Marin...I guess I answered my own question.

I think a few people have soured on them. They're also a dealer, and are often more expensive than Desmoto or Nichols.

i don't know of anyone who has HAD to use the warranty ...
I had too at Desmoto. They broke a piston ring when they reinstalled the vertical cylinder.
Their response was to fix the problem and throw in some high compression pistons as a sorry for the fcuk up.
(Which,by the way, got the supersport to the mythical 100hp 95ft/lbs mark)
