I have the top one. Nicely made - though I'm not currently using it. I've got a tank bag that uses the gas cap to mount and needs 5 bolts. Obviously that won't work with the top one.

I have one that looks exactly the same as th etop one, (the gas cap guy?) I think thats who I bought it from-E-Bay. The machining is good, but less than 3 months and the black anodizing turned brown. I think I will either paint it black, or try and have it powder coated.

I run a quick release. For me there are no problems at all with it.
The first version can cause problems due to it being threaded, you can tend to over tighten it and have trouble getting it off.

thanks.
I was leaning towards the quick release one, but was hesitant at twice the price.

I take my gloves off, and rest the cap upside down on my gloves. On top of the ignition.

The thing with this is that the cap lines up horizontally across the tank and for me, thats where I want it to stop. You could over tighten, but then the cap would be off kilter which would drive me nuts.
