Love the bike, and I love the paint. Great work.
Can't wait to see the next round of pics.

Sorry guys, the Ex Box is staying. I love it
Its like nothing else that you see on all the other Cafe bikes and it keeps the ass end of it thin.
As I said, the new solo cover will be painted to match the tank. I have plans to continue painting the engine the rest of the way. All black. This will include the oil cooler as well.
Keep in mind, I've done the work that I have done thus far in just about 3 months time. I have much more to do.
I love the input though! Keep it coming if you have ideas!

So I'm sure the headlight is what anyone is gunna ask me about
...I wanted retro and while illegal, my best riding buddy is the head of our local CSI...I doubt johnny law will mess with me too much about it. The area in which I live often has heavy fog. There is some function here. OH, Also...A friend of mine is in product development at Hella. he;s going to help me install a good HID conversion that WON'T be blinding to on coming traffic...
Why is the headlight illegal? Is it because it has a yellow lense or because it is too bright? What is the significance of the yellow lense anyways? Is it aesthetics or is that the color of fog lights?
Also, lets see that cafe CB350.

The only detail I am unsure of is the wheel selection. I might just powder coat the current ones black (or??!!) as there is nothing at all wrong with them. I was also considering an old school spoke set up from a 1000 sport, but I fear the addition of unsprung weight on this bike thats already somewhat starved for power.
The steel rims from the GT1000 are heavier than the aluminum rimed wheels of the Sport 1000. I'm not sure, but I thought the aluminum rimed spoke wheels from the Sport 1000 weighed about the same as the stock 3 spoke cast aluminum Monster wheels. Another option are the tubeless Alpinas which could save you even more weight and these have enough clearance for you to use the 4-piston front brakes. Take a look at Stu's latest for a view of the Alpinas.

I love the seat concept. I hope it works out as well as I'm imagining it.

How about shaving off the handrails and reshaping the cowl to remove the bulges covering the handrails?

Nice.
Usually when someone uses the word retro modern or cafe or a combination in the title the bike inside isnt either.
I like yours. and i'm fussy.
not keen on the paint its a bit fancy for me and all those layers of laquer will eat up the weight saving from the c/f lol.

Looking good BlackKat.
+1 on black ceramic coating for the exbox.
How about moving the license plate forward and bending it back in the opposite of the current angle? Or even try just leaving it where it is but reversing the angle.
Some opinions/suggestions: Ditch the fork reflectors. Reroute the right side oil cooler line to the left side of the engine. Powdercoat rear spring silver or black.

+1 Spoke rims would be sweet on that bike.

Your bike looks awesome
Love the seat! I think the ExBox looks really cool... definitely slims down the back end a lot. Black powder or ceramic coating would really look good.
I''ll +3 the spoked SC wheels suggestion. They're heavier than the stock 3-spokes, but would really give the bike a vintage feel. I'd also suggest the lower triple could be powdercoated or painted black to match the top triple. I think that would give the front end some uniformity.
Great work.
