I think they may have started with rain tires and came in to switch to slicks. Maverick Vinales caught a damp patch & went down. Too bad Rossi couldn't sort out the second bike as he was on fire for Marquez in the first half. |

+1 I kinda lost interest in the race after the swap, I only continued to watch for the chance to see a Duc or two on the podium...  |

It wasn't the weather. Scott Redding had a rear tire delaminate in practice like Baz did in testing. The plan was to use a different construction slick and give them an extra 30 min practice to figure it out. Then it rained Sunday morning. Michelin knew the original spec tires would be safe for at least 11 laps so they shortened the race to 20 laps and had a mandatory bike swap on lap 9, 10, or 11. |
