Ahh, just curious. Trying to fill the knowledge banks for later!   Evil

I think the 2-1 set up looks pretty damn wicked on the SSSA!

I have a red/red 696 (no white stripe); my wheels are stock black, going to paint them white. I can't conceive of anyone not enjoying a red/white scheme on an italian bike...

It break's evo's heart ;(

Love the idea of white rims.  Hate the time it takes to keep them white.  I'm keeping mine black so the brake dust blends in.  Thinking about doing a yellow wheel stripe though...

Thanks for that suggestion Herm!  I've been here since September and had no idea!

I'm leaning towards gold/bronze now.  Matty's bike looks gorgeous!!

Hey!  How about green for that tri-colore look?  laughingdp

I voted Gold/Bronze and Dark silver.  Red is too much, black is BORING, and white...well...you've already been there, eh?

Gold/Bronze  as evidenced in prior photo in this thread

I would not use gold on any other color scheme though

Black and BTW, I can't stand the white rims.

And the first time I saw white I was sold, yeah I spend some time cleaning them, but I wouldn't change them, spend your money on front forks and 320mm disc's and 4 pad calipers

the marchesinis (or was it marvics) of around 1995 came in a raw, cleared mag sort of washed out goldy colour that looked great.  the 916 race bikes of 94 and 95 would have had them.  i know a customer of ours found an almost identical colour years ago in a spray can, no idea what it was called.  that's a great colour, subtle, not too flashy, but very nice.

It was the Marchesinis, and that was the chromate coating they use to protect the magnesium from corroding.

It looks good, but comes off if you look at it crosseyed.
