it's really bad when you have the code for driving while intoxicated memorized.
It actually dates him. That's the old code (502) and where the cop term "deuce" comes from. Like, "I think that guys deuce", or "I hooked a deuce tonight". The new one(s) is/are 23152 (a) and 23152 (b).
I also got my share of tickets in my youth. Maybe 7 or 8. None for the past six years.
I "had" to open up the new R6 the other night. Last I saw was 148 or some nonsense. Actually very stupid. Then saw a black and white behind me. I motion that I'm going to pull over, he waves me off. I have no idea why he let me go.

Too many to count. However, today in the mail, I just found out I triumphed over yet another ticket and I quote, "Due to lack of Prosecution".
Trial by Declaration
is my new best friend. I'm going to by it a drink with the $500 I just saved...

been a long time since i've had a car (12 years or so), i think i got two speeding tix total during those years
1) speeding on that freeway that goes to laguna in my first car, a 79 datsun 200sx (avocado green metal flake and gold mag wheels - big pimpin'. it's nickname was the frog.
2) charmed my way out of two potential tix and a lifetime in jail in baja california in my 2nd car, 81 jeep cj-5. broken tail light, fueled by pacifico, tequila and a crappy 4-banger motor. thank god, i had taken 4 years of spanish, had no cash in my wallet and am handsome as the is long. got pulled over twice, at night, on the way home from a day mucho celebrando. my last resort was to tell the cops my jail name is 'juan estabadude'.
cut to 12 years later sans car...
3 tix, by same cop, doing the same exact thing on an orange 03 kawi z1000 in the same mother grabbing month. (that 3rd ticket doesnt go over so well w/ wives, btw)
traffic school for #1, trial by declaration for #2 -- DENIED was able to do traffic school. and for some unknown reason able to do traffic school for the 3rd as well. i'm a pro at on-line traffic school. can get it done in just 3 hours.
fyi...don't cross the white line (into the shoulder to pass cars in the transition loop from the 101 E to the 405 S. it took me three times to learn that lesson. and apprently looks doesn't always get you a warning. i'll have to look into purchasing some push-up bras.
chp motor officer mathews can kiss my gritts.

***UPDATE***
GOOD NEWS:
I BEAT my speeding ticket by Trial by Declaration!!!
Hurray!!!!!!! So, for the second time, I have beaten a ticket by Written Trial...first one on the Crest, 9 miles over.
This one was in the Truck, 80 in a 65...
BAD NEWS:
New Ticket... let's just say the Bail is set for...$1,177.00
make the beast with two backs ME, this one I have no idea what to do, so let's hear it...long story short.
I passed a guy who was parked on the Crest at the rest stop at Mount Wilson. I go, he musta come up from behind me...and he musta had a cop on his tail...
Me, CRUISING down the staircase, looking for a spot to pull off and take a photo (seriously). I find a spot, begin to pull off and hear the Moto Cop (not Stout) siren the guy that was at the rest stop. I had NO idea that this guy was anywhere close to me...he musta make the beast with two backsing jammed up the hill to catch up to me... Cop pulls him over, I am already pulling over just to take a make the beast with two backsing photo, and he points at me!!! Like, hey, come here!!! WTF?
It musta looked like the guy on the 998 and I were riding together, or IMO, at the point the cop caught up to him, he was just catching up to me...at this point I amd totally confused!!!
Turns out the guy on the 998 was LBPD. I overheard this....the cop chews the 998 guy out, "What the make the beast with two backs are you thinking?!" the cop says to him...and guess what, the cop writes me up first, shocker!
He won't talk to me, he won't get near me...then he asks, are you guys together? Me, "No, I don't know the Guy 998"...
He writes me up for crossing the double yellow and for excessive speed. I verbally deny both counts. I say, how fast did you think I was going? He says, "You tell me?" I paced you TWO at 70MPH...I state again, I'm not riding with 998 Guy! He ignores me...
I should have stayed, but in the moment, I was totally confused and didn't realize that it may have been the case that he chased 998 guy and then caught up to me...
WHAT TO DO?:
A: Fight by Written Trial- I have to post bail...
B: Hire a lawyer and fight in person.
C: Fight in person, no lawyer.
D: Dude, you're make the beast with two backsed, you and I both know that he saw you speeding and crossing the double yellow when you passed that Subaru on the uphill...this was a weird pass as I was NOT pressuring the Sub to pull over...they just simply made room for me on a long uphill straight and I took it...
BUT, this was miles back...very close to Mt. Wilson, no way had the 998 guy suited back up and caught up to me in that stretch...or did he...and BTW, where did the cop come from in all this? make the beast with two backs if I know...

DUDE, $1200!!!!!! DANG!!
I have a sheriff that is on campus every day as a community rep. (Good guy). He swears that if I file by decleration I will lose my ability to do traffic school.
What's the dealio, Mr. Ticket Assasin?
DANG, $1200!!!!
PS A lawyer is gonna cost more than $1200, no? How many points is that gonna be? Can you go to traffic school with that high of a tix?
Holly crap, $1200!!!

Uh, Dudes, I'm an idiot. I just realized that the major infraction on my ticket was not having insurance proof at time of stop. I have it, did not have it on me, looks like the bail amount will be cut in half if not more...
GregP:
You can request a New Trial-but I ain't saying nothing. Search TR-220
BUT, what defense can you come up with that will potentially get you off the hook for speeding with a trailer?
I would fight your ticket by trial, I would argue that the cop did not have an accurate assessment of your speed...I can send you my defense for my 65 in an 80. I stated that I was doing approx 65 at the time of my stop...that's make the beast with two backsing arguing that the speed assessment was 15 mph OFF what he states! I used an arsenal of defenses to state that he did not have an accurate judgment of my speed.
BTW, this cop NEVER informed me of my speed. He did not state pacing, did not state radar. In fact, there was no approx. speed written on my ticket! He had to make an addendum to the infraction and it was sent to me 2 weeks later!
So, I fought all fronts. If he was pacing, had an argument, if he in fact used radar, argument...it's 2 pages long.

He probably just didn't fill out the form and return it.
BTW: What color were A: the 998 and B: The driver of the 998

Yellow Motorbike (998? 996?) , African American. We chatted for a minute about the track...nice guy.
This must all sound pretty strange...I mean the course of events leading up to the pull over...I was distracted and searching for a place to pull off...I never looked back, I never heard 998 if he was in my range...
The long, long story is that 998 is fast. I saw him at the base of the Crest. I gassed up and he took off. I never saw him on my way up. At the first rest point, he was stopped, I passed, then stopped off the side of road to snap a photo. He passes me, I give a little chase, good pace, Never saw him until the Mount Wilson turn off point...I pass him, again, he's pulled off the road there.
At that point in the trip, there's a looooong uphill straight, then quite a few more uphill turns until the descent into the staircase...
I may go back up there to calculate speed and mileage between points...if he was tailing me, say he jumped right back on and caught up to me quick, at what point did the cop see "us"...? Shite, wish I had eyes in the back of my head.
And No, for the record, I didn't use my mirrors once that trip...never do.
