You guys are going about this the hard way.

>3/4" rise for <$80 - the Ducati Monster 796 Factory Bar Riser. We've done this at the shop on Monster 1100's quite a few times. You need nothing else but the riser bracket itself. Its 20mm taller.

Yep, I got one and just haven't got the 796 one on there yet.

you want to give me the step-by-step?  I see four bolts to take out (I assume righ hand thread) and then two bolts/nuts that hold the riser.  What is the torque for each?  Is there anything I can screw up along the way?

Sorry but I have limited experience with wrenching on this bike!

Is there any store that sells this "796 Factory Bar Riser" online? Can I use it on a 696?
Thank you!

You can call up any dealership and say you want the bar riser part for the 796, OR go through the parts fiches at Commonwealth, Ducati Omaha, etc and order away.   Piece o' cake. You *only* need the riser part itself, not the silent blocks or any other ancillary part

I did this mod but when I turn the wheel to the left the throttle cable pulls. Any way to eliminate this? I already bought the 796 throttle cable for $20 (which I assume is longer) from the dealer (being shipped) but if there's away to avoid the install I'll just stomach the $20 loss.

We didn't have any problems, but sets can very based on what else has been done.   The part numbers are different for the cables, so it may very well be longer (or just made by somebody else, who knows until you get compare 'em)

When i installed my risers i ended up rotating the throttle housing so that the cable came out on the bottom of the bar.
