Australian Superbike Championship speeds onto FOX SPORTS

FOX SPORTS has expanded its portfolio of world-class motorsport by securing rights to the Australian Superbike Championships under a three year agreement, effective immediately.

The Australian Superbike Championships (ASBK) is Australia’s premier motorcycling championship, contested over seven rounds across four states and territories.

The series brings together Australia’s best riders and leading world class manufacturers. FOX SPORTS has assumed the rights for the remainder 2010 series, after One HD provided coverage of the opening round from Phillip Island in February.

A 90-mintue highlights package from the second round of the series, from Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway, will be screened on Thursday 10 June.

FOX SPORTS will provide prime time highlights packages from each remaining round of the ASBK series this season.

The three year arrangement between FOX and IEG was exclusively brokered by Matt Cousins of Australia’s premier Action Sports marketing agency, FluidPR.

Soames Treffry, Director FOX SPORTS Channels, said the Australian Superbike Championships is a welcome addition to FOX SPORTS.

“The Australian Superbike Championships has a good following and is a strong addition to our motorsport family, which includes live and exclusive coverage of the Superbike World Championship,” said Treffry.

“Fans love both series and so having both on FOX SPORTS will be advantageous for Superbike followers."

Yarrive Konsky, of International Entertainment Group, said the deal with FOX SPORTS will expose ASBK to a greater audience.

“The success that FOX SPORTS has had with the Superbike World Championship has seen the likes of Troy Bayliss and Troy Corser become household names in Australia,” he said.

“This is a big step forward for not only the Viking Group Australian Superbike Championships, its riders and teams, but also the many fans of the sport around the country that will now have greater access to the all the thrilling action the sport provides.

“The potential of seeing our series go live in the coming year is fantastic and will ensure the much needed following our elite riders deserve.

“Securing FluidPR to represent the ASBK’s media interests was an instrumental part of my strategy to ensure the long term growth of the series.

”Their clients include the biggest names in global motorsport including Chad Reed and Troy Bayliss, and the successful negotiation of the new three year telecast deal with FOX by Matt Cousins and his team at FluidPR is yet further evidence why they are considered market leaders in action sports marketing, media and management.

“They have really delivered beyond my expectations with these negotiations. Within a very short timeframe they took the ASBK telecast package to market, evaluated the potential opportunities on offer, and negotiated the final package with FOX on behalf of IEG."

FOX SPORTS coverage of the Australian Superbike Championships is available to FOXTEL and AUSTAR subscribers.

G'day Aunty Mal.

If you lot are wondering who this "Aunty Mal" bloke is, my advice is to keep well clear of him. He's a BAD INFLUENCE.  I went to lunch with him and a mate of his a couple of weeks ago. All they talked about was racing this and racing that.  After getting brainwashed by them (and after polishing off a beaut plate of chilli mussels and a cold beer  drink ) I got all befuddled and walked next door to Frasers and bought  a Monster 696 to go racing with.  Shocked

You've been warned.  [moto]

...er...Spot-on Spotcom! I is BAD!...plenty of folk have spread this info, and its all TRUE!...we...some of it anyway. Last year I was interviewing a race promoter, he didn't like some of the questions!...went on a forum...called me a "Drunk and a Goat Phukker"...It wasnt true....I'm not a Drunk!!
Now Spotty, fancy abusing a couple of innocent fellow riders, and blaming them for your "profound racing addiction". We just felt sorry for your 848!....and, as all the listers here know full well, if ya gunna ride ya might as well do it naked. On a MONSTER!!!! Congratulations. aunty
