Congrats!

In the summer I enjoyed soaking my legs in the pool after a long run: relaxing and helps blood from pooling in the legs.

very cool.....I was doing a 15.3 mile run on Saturday and only made it to just past 12 due to me feeling it in my MCL and walked the rest for the most part...we ran up and then down Sugarloaf Mountain, and then on some less than great conditioned roads around the mountain....the off camber shoulders and the rocky gravel roads just took my gait and stride off enough that I felt it...and I mean really felt it....it probably also didn't help that we were supposed to be running at a 10:15-ish pace and we were often running about a 9:30 or faster pace.

we ran up and then down Sugarloaf Mountain...

You are a better man than I am. Shocked

I complain when I run up a hill so you've definitely got me beat on that front. As I've increased my weekly mileage, I've experienced nagging pains, ie IT Band, sore heels, tight calves. I knew that I was long overdue to purchase new shoes, so I bought some new Asics at a local running store this weekend. Those nagging issues disappeared so mine problems where due in part to my worn shoes.

I got a small group of guys I run with regularly....if you want to meet up with us sometime...always easier to run with people than by your lonesome...might be good to have someone running with you look at your stride/strike/gait to see if you are doing anything to exascerbate things.

Maybe try one of the massage-roller thingies. They're pretty cool. Help break things up.

we have a "muscle-trac" and we have the trigger point kit and a big foam roller at home...all used for different things in various ways...all tend to work to a degree....just a matter of which and what and the severity.
