How well did it work?

Worked great - although it's more like the bike kinda ended up in the trap after it slid across T1 and the grass along the edging. I think it dug into the gravel which caused it to flip once (or it flipped when it hit the alligator bumps). Windscreen gone, bent up fairing bracket, broken brake lever (brand new Brembo - grrr), bent slider, bent handlebar, more dents and scratches on a bike that has had more than its fair share. Oh, and a bunch of red dirt.
Scuffed up leathers - sadness as they were perfect. Luckily the helmet never touched.

Took about an hour to get things going again by which time it was lunch.

On the bright side I haven't yet mounted the new bodywork so there's that.

I think I had the rear shock set too soft and when I transitioned to back on the gas I unweighted the front too much and off I went sliding on my ass.

Went riding  Grin  Grin  Grin

Album on Picasa Web & Route on

Nearly exhausted now, but it was great! Next time I'll head in through Green Ridge State Forest so I can ride more there, and out through Paw Paw, since I couldn't get to the roads I was looking for.  Tongue
I am envious!

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw that—it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

I actually find that it takes less energy to ride a FS bike around there, but that's just me.  All depends on how the bike is set up.

Just move to DE, you're close enough.  That commute looks blissful.

Ha, that commute reminds me of my former co-worker at the Washington Navy Yard. He lived on the eastern shore and left his house around 4:30am each morning.

Meerkat, do you go through an oil change every other month with that commute?

Spent 5 hours at MVA getting my bike registered and titled. No one knows anything and rules are ad hoc.

Well, that's the recommended interval...but I stretch it out to once a quarter. With 150k on the old piece of crap, I've become a bit more religious about checking the oil between changes. So far so good....

Thanks zoom! Weather does look favorable - cool temps and a light shower to cool me down during the run.

Which vehicle has 150K? Not the S2R?
