Now all I need is a USB to OBDII cable

ross-tech.com has em for the VAG emulators...so you can software to diag your Dub and the hardware for your SD....just sayin....

Stripped one of the intake valve cover bolts on the horiz cyl

at least it was the bolt and not the bolt hole....I have some various extra hardware if you can give me measurements, I can dig through and see if I can find it for you!

Zooom what do I need to fix the stripped threads on the engine case? It's where one of the kick stand bolts screws in.

you CAN put a helicoil in it, but I think you are going to be better off with a Time-Sert repair kit because the Time-Sert is a steel insert instead of a spun coil...is it an M10 x 1.50 Huh?...I can't remember...I had to do one on my old Monster that I gave to the ex because I was doing the stupid move of spinning the bike on the kickstand and it caused undo wear to the point that my kickstand about fell off when I went to park the bike one day...luckily, it was in my driveway AFTER a ride that I discovered this....

Well, I didn't need to start research on Timeserts, luckily. I finally had to bust out the drill, and lefty bits to get that valve cover off. Mercifully some heat, the lefty drill bits and a spiral remover got it loose. Damn thing was bent just a touch, thats what must have given me such hassles.

But at least I didn't have to remove the head to get it out... what a nightmare that would have been.

So now, I just have to do a little shim sanding, have my shock serviced, pick up my exhaust from the coaters, do my new chain... ugh.

Who did you use for the PC?  I'm looking forward to seeing how it turned out.

Planned to go riding, but life got in the way.  Ended up ordering the cable to re-map the SD though.

Had the brake/clutch upgraded to radial masters from an 08 848, cleaned all the grit and grime from the bike, painted the midpipe and threw on the vanity plate (TICKET).

Uhm, no.  Got rid of the last one and have no intention of getting another one.  Well, unless she's rich that is.   Grin
