If Jim hasn't fixed the throttle , it will feel diconnected , if he fixed it , I am riding it first.
Of course I didn't fix it....I'd never get to ride my own bike!

No. If there was, Massimo would have found it seconds after posting, Ben would have looked at it and said "meh", then Jim would have bought it and broke it.

Just wrapped up day one of CornerSpin. Tired tire and getting a good bruise forming on some ribs where I ate handle bar when I tucked the front.

Yep. I'm heading back early tomorrow AM. Got there around noon today and could only get 2 rides in. Rode the Z1000 and Ninja 1000; all the ZX's were booked for the day.
It was dry all afternoon. Some of the roads are very familiar, BTW...
The Z1000 is an unholy machine. I was expecting something sophisticated and refined, like the Speed Triple, but found myself storming the gates of hell on a crack-smoking stallion. I'm not sure if I enjoyed it, but my loins are still tingling. Downside: I kept kicking the silencers with my heels as I moved around on the pegs. The bars are a bit too wide IMO. And the instrument cluster is so small it's useless.
Despite what the magazines and salespeople say, the Ninja 1000 is not that similar to the Z1000. You can definitely feel the extra 20-30 lbs and 1" on the wheelbase. I haven't looked at specs, but I'd say the rake is more conservative too. Probably a better fit for someone looking for a sport-touring bike that is more sport than touring.

That's a cause I can get behind. I've moved on to 21st Amendment Back in Black. Gotta build up my collection of shimming materials.

Gonna go there right now.

Less douchbaggery this morning than yesterday afternoon. My buddy Phil and I were probably the youngest dudes there; everyone was looking at us like, "What the hell are you doing up this early?!"
Anyway, rode the ZX6R and 10R by 10 o'clock. By then a critical mass of squids had formed around the tent and we called it a day.
My naked short-list:
- Street Triple R (2011)
- FZ8 (2011)
My sport short-list:
- Daytona ('08+)
- ZX-6R ('09+)

If you look at a Daytona, go with an 09 or newer. That way you get the upgraded engine internals, better suspension and nicer brakes. Also, don't forget there is that one red '10 with less than two thousand miles down in the swamp land. Dude will take $7500 for it.

Took the bike for a spin then met up with the Craigslist King and got some filters.
