Wow, sorry to hear of the crashes, but glad you two are ok.  I crashed a solid half-dozen times over the weekend ....



At trials training school - no noteworthy damage to me or the bike.  Learned a ton of new stuff, jap-zaps, splatters etc.  Huge fun launching the bike at a 4' vertical rock face rear-wheel first    My most impressive crash was an over-zelous splatter on a smaller rock (3' maybe) where I hit the kicker so hard I cleared most of the face and landed on top of it upside down - luckily trials bikes are ~160lbs so it didn't squash me too much

Went out to the WVA mountains yesterday to put the new suspension through its paces. Turns out that rear tire with ~1000 miles left on it only had ~500 miles on it. New rubber this week and I should be good to go for a while.

The 33 was a sh!tstorm yesterday. Lots of pilots waiting around for the ambulance and flatbed. Witnessed more agony than I care to in a lifetime. I dunno why folks take such chances on such unpredictable, unforgiving roads.

Dammit!  That sucks.  You just got that bike all done with all your mods.  Glad you are okay.  I know how that feels.  At least it seems like the guy is admitting fault.  I had a driver take a left in front of me (when I had my SV) and I hit the car because I couldn't stop in time and I got a ticket for colliding even though I was going straight on a green and not speeding.  So, they didn't cover any of my damages (even 1% fault in DC and the other party doesn't have to pay).  I also did a full front flip over the car.  Thank god I hit at the rear wheel well or else I may have gone flying into the side of the car and not have gotten up again.  Glad you're being upbeat about it.  Let me know if you need any help with anything.

Glad to hear you're ok man.  Yesterday seems to be the day for accidents. 

Got into one myself yesterday with a BMW on Capitol Hill.  Blindly made a left hand turn as I was traveling straight at the intersection of Maryland Ave. and 12th St. NE.  Didn't feel like waiting for the box truck that was @ the light making a left to wait.  Just decided to go and there I was.  Nothing to do but grab a handful of brake and try to slow her down.  Launched me in the air and I landed on the trunk.  Stupid cager driver kept saying everything can be replaced.  If he had just waited until that box truck moved he would have seen me.  3 minutes almost cost me my life. 

Feel like shit and sore as a mofo but other than a what seem to be sore tendons in my left hand, recovering.  Definitely kissed my gear on the way to the hospital...

Hope to be back riding soon!  Time to look for another Monster (frame has structural damage) on the top tube as both the lower and upper triple is done as well as the forks.

Gotta find a way to remove the Penske rear shock before the Insurance company moves her!

Tune didn't make much power difference from beginning to end - though you picked up a couple hundred usable RPMs at the tip top. But before it was running lean from 4500 on and they sorted that out.

Hell, I knew that much. The better news is that the dead zone at 5k rpm is better. Still not totally sorted out (as observed on my ride home), but much much better. I'll give it a couple of rides for the adaptation table to fill in and Kenny says to let him know if it isn't better after that. The other thing that is better (although you can't see it on the chart) is that huge valley at very low rpm (i.e. when you're taking off from a stop light) is taken care of and the bike seems to take off better.

Definitely better, although I didn't have him respring anything. The sag is still a bit high, so he played with the rebound/compression to try to get the best he could without respringing.

I've got some thinking to do over whether to respring the stock fork/shock or to get some sparkly bits for front and rear. Regardless of which path I choose, I have to have a paying job first! 8/19 is the first payday of the fall semester...YIPEE!!!
