Ran the monster out of gas  bang headboo...fortunately, I was a half block from the station I was trying to make it to. waytogo

Yeah, I'm that dumb!

Remember this? Did it again yesterday going to the same station. This DP chip guzzles the gas! Reserve down to 15 mi after light comes on... Won't be trying to push it any more.

Not so much "fooling" as part of the learning process. I'll take the knocks to turn mpg in mph. Evil Grin

Aren't you an educator? Even a hard science one?

Why yes I am. Any experimentalist will tell you that you shouldn't be surprised by a different result under new conditions. The thing I really hate is having a swollen tank again that only holds 3.1 gal from "bike won't run" empty! The nominal volume of the tank is 3.6 gal with a little over half a gallon reserve. Obvioulsy, I'm NOT happy with the proposed settlement between Ducati and Girard Gibbs!

- Do tell. I have not been following the plastic tank saga in detail.

True true - you have me there. And there are lots of variables at play. Maybe you should just figure out your rough average MPG and 0 the trip meter at a fill up then ride until XX miles. That's what I do... go old school with me man!

That's what I've done...120 mi (stock) vs 105 mi (DP) til light comes on...~25 mi til empty on stock and ~15 with DP...so now I know. Anyone have a DP spec S2R1K? I'd be interested to see the difference in their map vs the euro DP spec map that I'm running courtesy of ducatidiag/writer.

I have a DP ECU from a Paul Smart (P/N 96517006b) on my S2R1K.  I just had it installed & dyno-tuned by DucPond (so no comparisons possible yet), but the tech told me that the map was perfect out of the box.  I don't have the tools to view the map, but if you do, I'm happy to make my bike available.
