Oh no.  All the SC bikes have that glorious nylon nonsense.

I'll most likely end up with a metal tank some time down the road. Well, assuming I keep the bike that is.

if that is the case then, I'd look into seeing if you can mod an olde school 750 Sport tank, for to maintain the lines of the bike and the flavor and style, but to have it be non expanding metal tank...

We sorta made bits up as we went along, but it was something like this http://g.co/maps/vk4w7

Thanks! waytogo I knew about a loop that heads north from Fulks Run (had to double check the spelling there laughingdp), and your route is inspiring me to head south as well.

By the time the weather is nicer and the days are longer I'll have a nice route for a full day of dirt road shenanigans. Grin

waytogo  There are lots and lots of dirt roads around Reddish knob, I think you could easily spend a day just wondering around that particular area.  My route was actually setup to minimize dirt roads as I had a dirt-noob with me, though he did awesome so I could have included more dirt.  I also lean toward paved surfaces with the buell as its the model with purely street suspension, tires and wheels so I'm not quite comfortable flogging it hard and drifting around with it in the dirt and who wants to ride slow on dirt?  Dolph  Now the XR650R might get me arrested on those wide, smooth dirt roads  Tongue

I'd actually rather fit a tank that follows the lines of the GT1000 a bit more.

Sent my PB stand off to it's new home and battled the sniffles.

And my interest is getting piqued by some sort of dual sporty type thing. Anyone know anything about the KTM 690 Enduro? DC passed me a listing for a 2008 with some nice farkles.. well nice seeming since I don't know that much about the orange yet.

the Katoom you posted in the general thread asking about is a nice sounding machine, but sounds a bit high, bu seems to have all the nice bits you might want for the most part...especially having the option for the Sumo set-up if you chose to spring for it....

yeah the 2nd set of ready wheels with pavement tires did catch my eye.

A bit high? Like $100 high or $500 or $1000 sorta high?

I am thinking more like a grand + too high...to me it seems he is adding in all the mods to the price like some people do here when they mod and add what they spent to the value...but maybe do some shopping on ADVRider and/or ThumperTalk to see what if any comparable bikes out there are selling for...

It's addictive!  laughingdp I'll post my thoughts in the thread on the 'general monster' chat.

Back to routes, heres the merge of what bikepilot rode and one a friend of mine sent me. Thou I'll probably slab it to Front Royal and then hit Fort Valley Rd...

Got my copy of Fastest, watched it.  Dropped the tank off for painting.
