I was bored, so I put the muffler from an 848 on my GS.

Some rubber spacers and leftover clutch spring caps as spacers to tilt up the wind screen.

And this is how it looks all together.

SP, the 690 is a great bike.  Loads of power, smooth, 6spd gearbox etc.  Once sorted they seem quite reliable.  Enough folks have had fuel pump and related issues that I suspect there's something up with them--some postulate that some sort of internal hose is sometimes kinked from the factory or something.

FWIW I'd sell my '94 DR250SE if you wanted to try out DS on the cheap.

I took my wife's scooter around the neighborhood for the first time since this summer. Built it for Mother's Day and the first ride resulted in forgetting how brakes/clutch work and stopped on a tree after side swiping the side of a car on the passenger side. Got it fixed and she's not gotten on it yet. So I took it out today and it's running like hell so just going to leave it parked until spring and get it squared away.

Found out that the fracture that I thought I got a few months ago was actually an aggravation of one that appears to be about nine years old.  Kind of ironic that I started having issues with my right wrist about that same time, and was seeking treatment from the docs at whichever posting I was assigned to at the time.  Well, now they tell me that the break is very old, never really healed at all and there is also a fair chance that the bone has become necrotic, and started to die/decay, due to the break never being addressed.  So it's off to a new series of MRIs I go.  Sure is a shame that I can't take these docs to court for being inept, as I'd be a very rich man by now...

Just finished my 1st semester of full-time graduate school with back-to-back finals. I'm glad it's over but am feeling mentally exhausted. This academic environment is really getting old really quickly.

Good luck! My brother just went through a similar issue with his knee - woke up one morning and it was broken in 3 spots. Turns out a childhood break right above it had never healed and had deteriorated and over time shifted more stress at the bottom of the thigh-bone and finally something had to give. They couldn't believe he'd never felt pain or anything over 20+ years. I guess the body is an amazing machine (some moreso that others!).

The problem you're going to have is the wrist area gets so little blood it's slow to heal. You need to see Doctor Costas at the Clinica Mobile! He can fix it, and come up with a strangely worded tribute to you at the same time!

Hope it's not your throttle hand! Smiley

make the beast with two backs just one final! back-to-back finals should be illegal.

Rats. I guess you need one of these:

Left-handed throttle. Of course you'll also have fun with the hand-shift and (I'm guessing) foot-clutch, and manual ignition advance and hand-pump oiling. If you want to take it the road you'll need some lighting - carbide acetylene would fit the period I think  - bring some matches!

Not really, she's 84. Tho she doesn't look it at all! She even helped me hold a horizontal book shelf up against the wall! Shocked

Woke up and my daughter told me my bike is on the ground. bang head I think some b**ch a** mother make the beast with two backers were playing with it last night/early morning. I'm fortunate that I installed frame sliders and i think the only two damaged pieces are a bent shift lever and shifter. I figured the bike would eventually go down but not like this over some bullshyte.
