What time will you tell the boss you'll be home?  Wink

Hey! I was off by only an hour on Monday! Angry

I've done that ride plenty of times in under 7 hours. You guys are just slow! Grin

BTW, Ed - he peeled off to slab it back I81->I66 - he got home at 5:00... just as we did! He was kinda pissed we almost beat him back! A real tribute to the route (and our pace on 231).

Now, if I can only learn how to keep up with you and Massimo in the mountains... Shocked

Just takes time, practice and confidence.  Familiarity with the roads (which I don't have yet) helps a whole lot too.

Like Massimo and I were saying, work on getting your feet up on the pegs.  Try riding with the balls of your feet, or maybe even your toes, in contact with the pegs versus the base of the heel rise.  You will get lots of extra cornering clearance just from that.  I'll stay behind you the next time we go up/down 33 or 211 so I can get an idea of how you are riding it and maybe be able to offer some pointers.

+1 gazillion! And get off your ass!

You should also do some track days: they help you become more confident and develop a better feeling with your bike, you'll learn how far you can push your tires, brakes, and frame. I really like going to Shenandoah at Summit Point. Lots of turns and relatively low speeds are a great way to learn your corners.

There's two more dates at Shenandoay this year with Roger Lyle: Sunday August 8th, and Monday Sept 6th (labor day); I'd like to do both.

Hey guys.  I really wanted to go riding on Monday.  I'm sad I missed it.  A whole weekend of drinking had me stuck on the couch on Monday.  Let me know when the next session is though and I'll come out.

Shenandoah track days are $150 (with early registration: 10+ days in advance). There's also a $25 membership fee, btw.

Just keep an eye on this thread. If you roll back a bit, there's a plan for this weekend already  waytogo

I saw Sunday.  That sucks...Sad  I have too much going on these days.  Parents will be coming into town that day.  Oh well, I am subscribed, so I will try and stay on top of future rides.

Get them a Metro pass and tell them to enjoy their day.   Evil

Ok, so the meet up is out in Bowie at 0930.  Who wants to meet up around Shirlington area and ride out together?
