am thinking more along the lines of an F800GS or perhaps a Tiger800XC maybe....more a smaller and lighter and yet more powerful dualsport....though my mind always wander lusts back to the KTM 990SMT....

That's a nice looking bike for sure, and looks to be well taken care of.  Let me know if you want to ride/borrow the SD for a day or so; that way you'll be able to get a feel for the motor and such and see if it's to your liking.

The SMT does look like nearly the perfect do-it-all street bike.  FYI MFI now has a new left-over '09 for $10.5k - killer deal.  If not for these pesky student loans I've gotta pay back I'd likely have bought it already.
