I have a 07 S4R, and I've been dreaming a full Termi system for a while but I just can't afford 3 grand.  I can afford about half of that (and it would still hurt).  Any suggestions?

Start looking for a used Termi system.  I've seen some cheap.

It's  not just about sound. It's worth 10 to 14 HP across the rev range.

With a 14 tooth front sprocket it absolutely transforms the bike.  With the db killers out there is a boat load of additional torque at the 3500 to 5000 rpm range and you can bump around town and no one will even give you a second look so far as noise.

If the US DOT/EPA would have allowed it, I guarantee you Ducati would have sold them that way. I got my kit for $2100 when I bought the bike.

If you do go with something else, you will have to get the ECU reflashed at least and Take the air box top off.

I have about 35,000 mi. on mine now and it seems to run better than new. waytogo

Best bike I've ever owned, by a long shot.

You are pretty close in price to the ZARD full system. It's been pretty popular on the S2R/S4R series.

I had that Spark system on my '04.  Nice stuff.  Ran well, sounded great.  I wasn't 100% happy though and sold it.

I'm in the same boat now and looking for a Zard system.  I've heard nothing but good about that system.

I don't think they make the Sparks for a 695 yet, but I could be wrong.

Of course you could just core your stock system and get a midpipe of some sort, and save about $2k overall. A nominal $150 at the most for the materials plus the cost of the midpipe and you've got the Termi sound at least, and good performance. I do realize the stock cans aren't blingy enough for most, but they are ridiculously well-made and if you ever tried to buy a new set of stock mufflers from the dealer you would be surprised at how much they cost. $800 per can, and that's just the cost of the mufflers. It's ironic how the stockers get relegated to the reject pile. People spend big money for Termis and the like, and their stock systems usually end up in the closet. But I'll bet the stockers cost way more to make than the Termis. All things considered the udder and the sound are the only two gripes I have with the stock system, which I took care of by doing a full glasspack with the stock cans and buying a midpipe. The glass is just now coming in to it's own and sounds really really good. I did a writeup on how to properly core the stockers in Tutorials and if you're relatively handy, you can accomplish the same thing. Buy a midpipe and you just might forget all about that Termi kit altogether. Of course there is still the ECU and airbox to think about, but you can get both of those taken care of for much much cheaper as well. However you wouldn't have those silly Termi stickers to give you bragging leverage. If I were in the market for a system though, full Arrows would be my choice. Actually what TAftonomos has on his bike would be what I would go for but he made it himself. Probably the sweetest system I've ever seen for your bike.

Pulled the trigger on anything yet?  I installed Ti Arrow full system on my S2R a few weeks ago for about your budget, same part numbers I think.  Wow, they look good and sound GREAT!  The Ti come with removable baffles.  For me, it's running quite well without any adjustment (probably still lean) though if you wanted to get the full performance you'd have to go with a PCIII or similar and some dyno tuning.

I recently installed:
- Roads Italia Slip-On System for 400 Euro/$510
- Marving Midpipe from Jeff at Monsterparts.com for $350 (waytogo)
- Performance ECU from Desmoporche for $450 (reflash your own for $250)
- Hiflow airfilter for ~$50.00
- Purchased VDST Software to reset the TPS for $200.00

About $1560 complete and all works very well.  The only issue was I was crazy about the mounting brackets with the Roads Italia exhausts and ended up buying some from the US Arrow Dealer for $50.00

These were for a S2R1K but should be the same $ for your set up.  Some pics at http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=37245.0
