My father lost all his hair at 16 after he had an extreme fever as a child

He learned how to fight in school shortly after only to defend himself. He never lost a fight  waytogo

I give myself another few years and it will be time to just shave the head  Undecided

i'm so glad that all the men on both sides of the family have a full head of hair still. the only bald one is the one that smoked 5 packs a day since 1975, and even then it's just kinda thinning.

besides, my melon looks awful shaven, yes i found that out the hard way.

Shave it. Or Skullet. Either way is awesome in my books.

On a side note, if and when using clipper to clean the kiwis make sure to keep the guard on or be VERY careful. Ask me how I know.  Shocked
that's 2 votes for the skullet!

+1 on keeping the guard on and set to a slightly higher setting

I have come to the conclusion that I am in denial about my hair loss. I am trying to find the courage to cut the remaining hair off. I have the clippers charged up on the bathroom counter and ready to go.
How short do I take it down?
I dont know if I could go down to a razor blade. Was thinking 1 or 2 guard on the clippers.
Do I stay in denial for 4-5 more years while hair cloning technology is being perfected?
I wont use Rogaine- I cant commit to doing that every day.

You already ride a ducati, so you've got bonus points right there.

Shave, wear dark clothes, grow a goatee: you'll look like your from the future.

Add a limp, and a dueling scar, and you are Bond villain from the future.

Anyone got a white cat?

Thats a good plan. I have a big gray cat who is quasi-evil. No laser beams though. Well, the inlaws dropped in last night so no-go on the hair cut. I give myself till the end of the month to take care of business.

shave it.  you'll only appreciate it once you've actually done it.  the lack of maintenance necessity alone is worth the cost of the most expensive clippers you can find.

skip the goatee though.  they're also just another thing you've got to maintain.  my wife loves it when I grow one but it makes me feel 20 years older as half of it is grey now. I can bring it back in 4-5 days so I let her have her way around her birthday or our anniversary.

hair or lack thereof is just a fact of life.  don't deny anything- just take action!  now!  go!  what are you waiting for!? go!

Just think - you will be able to wash your hair with a bar of soap! That makes me extremely jealous...

I'm a huge fan of velcro short hair on top and scruff or goatee on the face.

Mmmmm scruff.

Scruff can be sexy, but hurtful if your man has coarse hair! My beau's scruff is very rough so he never lets it grow. But that's ok... he has a shadow even when he's freshly shaven. Now THAT is hawt!

Mmmm... shadow...

I have sort of the opposite problem.  I haven't cut my hair in ages (Only once since I got out of the Navy) and haven't shaved my goatee since then.  The goatee isn't going anywhere, but I'm trying to get up the nerve to cut my hair... a lot shorter.

It'll look better, I know it will, but I guess I'm a wimp.

i like IZ_ more than full shine, but i think if you go in and have it buzzed - have them show you some stages.  ask em to cut the long off and show you long fuzz, if you don't like it slip on the lower guard and go super tight, don't like that - go all the way.  you'll have a pre-view of grow out looks.  ...i like IZ_.
 coffee
and about meester threadjacker: if your hair is something special and you get the "it's so thick, it's so pretty" all the time, maybe it's worth having long, but if you're just another guy with long hair - HACK IT!  have a look at yourself, don't like the look, well - it will grow back!  i speak from experience, i thought long black and pattern dyed hair was the shizzle on me, but then realized i could chop it to avoid embarrassing my mom {just this once} and let it grow back.  result: short works, i probably won't be growing it out again.
