So, who knows of a good, trustworthy independent VW repair shop in the area?
I put this up in hopes he would respond.  Wink  He's at a dealership, right?

yeah man...I work at Martens Volkswagen in Bethesda...let me know the 411 and I can hook a brutha up...

Bethesda eh?  Well, seeing how my job will be in Bethesda for the first seven months or so...  Wink

I just need to get a full tune up (my VR6 turned 113K) and was looking for a decent place that was trustworthy.  I'm going to be living around the Shirlington area...

12V unfortunately, and the last year of that gen I think.  It's a 2000 MkIV, GTI GLX 5spd.

oh, that ain't a bad one at all ( I like the 12V over the 24V personally when it comes to the 2.8 6's)...just slightly ooomph-ier than dolci's VR6 even though the overall MK4 chassis (FWIR) is a bit heavier than her B4...and the last of the 12V VR's in a GTi are the early 02's and they kept putting them in the Jetta Wagon's till '04....
