That's the wrong Washington.

It's pretty nice up here, similar to late spring weather in the DC area. A bit chilly in the mornings, tho. Oh, and the best part: lots of bikes! waytogo

Just got back from San Diego...and this DC weather sucks.  Gonna try to talk to the monitor in getting permanent change of station orders back west.

Indiana sucks. Especially Rt 70, Rt 65, and Indianapolis. Ohio aint looking much better right now, but only an hour more of interslab before I hit better roads.

Massimo: if you get back to the city, hit up Smarty Pants in Georgetown (yes, Seattle is not only in the other Washington, but also has a Georgetown - but it is a heavy-industrial area and not a place of million dollar townhouses). If you're there later in the day tell Tim I said hi - he's got a super nice Paul Smart SC.

Did you ride that "classified" road in Ohio? Or is that on the way back? Be safe; keep the rubber down.

Rode it both outbound and inbound, plus some other great roads. MD, VA, WV and SE Ohio have some great stuff. NW Ohio, Indiana and Illinois; fuggedahboutit. Either way, Guzzi handled them just fine (again) - just motors along. Not bad for a 36 year old bike with hacked up wiring. Did about 1000 miles out and 950 back. For some strange reason my left heel feels like there's a hole in it. I think my sock got bunched up in my boot or something. This medicinal beer is helping.

I'm interested to see how this goes: A petition to restrict US Highway 129 to non-commercial vehicles.

Sign it. I was out riding the morning the Triumph rider got snuffed. I decided to take Foothills Parkway to warm up (first ride of the trip) instead of the Tail. When I came back through the road was blocked off because of the accident. Nothing quite wakes you up like coming around a turn and seeing a semi across two lanes with no shoulders.

It's only a petition so I take it with a grain of salt that anything will happen, but something needs to be done about the truck traffic. We were talking about it down there and even an organized escort system would go a long way to solving the problem. I'm not a "ban it because it bothers me" person by any stretch, but there has to be a better way.
