DUCATI CRASH @ ZOLDER 11_06_2010

The guy (or girl, I don't know) is wondering what happened. Any ideas? My guess is to high entry speed and needing to turn too much to keep traction. I don't think  he didn't hit the apex of the previous turn either.

Compared with the previous lap at about 0:33, he's a couple feet further from the apex on the left turn.

I'm not sure if missing the apex is totally relevant, as there appears to have been plenty of time to get back on line for the right that  they crashed in.

Can't really compare with how they took the right on the previous lap, as they were balked by the red shirt guy.

I have no idea what caused the crash, but it sounded and looked like the bike was slowing down when it fell.  Could be the rider used too much front brake for the lean angle, or released the front brake too quickly and the forks rebounded.

It *looks* like a combo of brakes and lean angle.  In fact, he/she looks like he/she was way too late (and really hard based on the front end compressing) on the brakes for the last coupla turns.

I gotta tell ya, based on the riding, I'm not surprised he/she crashed.  There was a lot of late braking, missed apexes and blown lines (which, admittedly, any of us would have if you got a lap on video).  But it seems like he/she was trying too hard to go fast and was making lots of little mistakes.

I agree with everyone else. Looks like too much brake too late in the turn. Their riding definitely got a bit sloppier when they got clear track...like they were pushing it a bit too much and missing their braking points (if they ever had any).
