"You're like a stray wild animal" -- my ex

« on: June 04, 2008, 09:56:41 AM »

Hi NM peeps!!
Introduced myself back on the old "board whose name shall not be spoken." born and raised New Mexican currently exiled in Houston, TX.

well, two things: one, I'll be in ABQ July 14th (that's a Monday) and would be down for grabbing a drink with any interested parties.

two: I'm currently planning a road trip from Houston to my home in Abiquiu for later this summer. not sure how many of us Texans there will be joining, but at least me and one other person. I know the roads north of abq well but need some suggestions on routes for the south. I've heard some good things about the Cloudcroft roads but I haven't been there since I was a kid. any suggestions would be greeeeatly appreciated.
we'll def wanna meet up for some riding while there - plan on doing roads around the Jemez and the highroad from Taos to SF.
also, big party/bbq up at my house when this finally happens and any NM duc riders are def welcome to come if a ride out to abiquiu would suite you (warning - you WILL have to go through Espanola).

Lookin forward to hearing your suggestions!
ciao,
lucrece

We'll be waiting!   waytogo

Between Roswell and Albuquerque, there is some beautiful travelling on 380 West to Hwy 54 North.   Then get off on 55 and go north up to Mountainair.  Take 337 on up to Tijeras and you are at I-40.  Gorgeous scenery and enough twisties to make it fun.

Wow, Chipo you're one of my fav cats on the board. I always get a kick out of your posts. I'm gonna have to see if I can make it down there for this auspicious occasion.

BBQ and beer?  I'm on it like a fat kid on a cupcake!

The best part is, I don't have to go through Espanola!
