Has anyone tried ordering one of these:

http://www.fgspecialparts.it/en/ammortizzatori_sterzo.htm

http://www.fgspecialparts.it/catalogo_FG.pdf

Looks exactly like the DP unit only cheaper with more color options.  The gold adjustment control would go nicely with my S4Rs Tricolore.  I wonder if they have the same mounting kit as the DP FG Gubellini unit.

I just have to learn Italian to order it!

Why Italian? their site is available in English... top right button that looks like the British flag.. they speak English in Britain too Wink

What I'm really interested in is their traction control box with available electronic suspension!  Shocked

I'm not sure 'Sttering damper' qualifies as English!  Grin

FG makes several dampers for Ducati including the 848, Monster S2R/S4R, Hyper (non-rotary style), etc... FG is known as a good company, but we had a lot of issues with leaking FG dampers from Ducati and there is nothing to do except send it back for a warranty replacement (which is not quick!).

There is not a good US presence for the company - only a couple of people selling a few pieces. No service centers or even a dealer network that stocks replacements.

I'd suggest going with a brand like Ohlins, Bitubo, Sprint, etc... that has a good importer/distributor that stocks the full line so if there is an issue you send it back and get a new one a few days later rather than weeks!

Only reason I'm interested in the FG model is that the DP part is the only one that seems to be the only "cross mount" SD made to fit the S4Rs properly, but it is such a rip-off at $770.  I thought this might be a reasonable alternative.

And yes the site can be accessed in English, but when you get to the order page it is pure Italian

I have friends who run GPR units. However, none of these friends have Ducatis.

However, on GPR's site, they claim they can fit ALL Monsters:

http://www.gprstabilizer.com/shopping_sportbikes_ducati_monster_All

Price reads $550.

For all you 696 / 1100 folk:

To the OP: not sure if a rotary is what you're thinking, but I figured I'd pass this info along anyhow.

You can get the product line from Bellisimoto.  Check the sponsors board.

Yep we definitely can get FG Gubellini products, but whenever FG produces a part for Ducati Performance as a Catalog item, they cannot sell that part to anyone other than Ducati, who re-sells them through Ducati dealerships only.

For example, if you have a Ducati 1098 we can help you, but if you have a Ducati Hypermotard, we cannot.

If you are one of the unlucky ones, check out Bitubo and Matris, as we have each of their dampers in stock.

See all your options here - http://bellissimoto.com/dampers.html
